Project Summary

Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first AP1000 nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity, and we are looking for the talent that will help expand Poland’s nuclear base and build a strong and long-lasting energy future for generations to come.

This role is located in our Reston, Virginia office and will require permanent relocation to the area if you are not currently located nearby.

Role Overview:

• Prepares, coordinates, and directs Project Controls trend and change management program and presentations to Bechtel and client management.

• Develops and conducts change management related training of project personnel.

• Develops, interprets, and executes policy, objectives, and standards applicable to change management activities.

• Provides leadership in terms of integrating the change management process with other key project procedures (e.g. Risk Management, Forecasting, Cost, Trends, and Claims and supports corporate, Global Business Unit, commercial group, and functional stakeholders in managing change related activities as required.

• Provides leadership and guidance for the analysis of change related initiatives or work planning requiring detailed change assessment and response planning efforts.

 

Qualifications and Skills

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and at least 9 years of professional experience, or in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 15 years of professional experience

• Possess the legal right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.

• Must be able to pass nuclear security screening requirements and be able to obtain and maintain unescorted access to a nuclear power facility.

• Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check including verification of employment, education, and travel.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Strong communication skills to influence and coach the team in effective change management at all stages of delivery.

• Demonstrated capability to interface with commercial and technical functions to effect baseline change management.

• Significant engineering and construction management experience customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.  

• Thorough knowledge of and demonstrated experience in directing change management functions. 

• Experience and demonstrated skill in establishing criteria for Project Controls change management activities.

• Skilled in oral and written communication, with demonstrated ability to present Project Controls change related information to management and to the client.

• Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and solving problems. 

• High level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes.

• Demonstrated experience in delivery, communication, and training of change management processes and procedures.

• Demonstrated ability to work with people of varied backgrounds and objectives.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven track record of successful project change management and full exposure to project business case scrutiny processes and project controls practices (baseline trending).

• Experience implementing change management systems that compliment contractual arrangements.

• EPC/EPCM experience on major infrastructure programs.

• Project Controls leadership experience on large projects. 

• Knowledge of current industry and technical developments.
