Job Summary:

In this role, you will report to the CWE Professional Development Design Lead and serve as a senior Design Specialist who brings direct construction execution insight into the design of enterprise learning programs. Leveraging project management experience, field-based construction knowledge, and instructional design expertise, you will lead the design and development of technical construction learning programs that reflect real EPC field execution, not theoretical best practices.

You will ensure training content is practical, constructible, and scalable, supporting both current project delivery and future construction capability. Your work will influence how Field Engineers, Superintendents, and construction leaders are trained across the enterprise, enabling a consistent, repeatable workforce development model grounded in field realities. #LI-TH1

Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead programs by defining milestones, managing dependencies, and mitigating risks to ensure field-relevant, high-quality program and training execution.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts to design construction instructional content that mirrors how work is planned, executed, and controlled in the field, delivering high-impact learning experiences for technical field professionals.
  • Coordinate and facilitate virtual and in-person trainings and workshops across Bechtel’s offices and active project sites, globally.
  • Translate program requirements using advanced analytical skills to develop project plans, manage priorities, and identify opportunities for execution and process improvement that support informed decision-making and on-time delivery.
  • Collaborate with the deployment team to analyze training needs using field data and project feedback, diagnose performance gaps, and develop targeted interventions that lead to measurable improvements in program quality and learner outcomes.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
  • Strong communication skills and experience interacting with SMEs and stakeholders
  • Experience using survey data and KPIs to inform learning design
  • Experience with training facilitation, logistics, and stakeholder engagement

Preferred:

  • Field experience in construction, preferably within the EPC industry
  • Proficiency in Articulate 360, ADDIE methodology, Power BI, SharePoint, and SuccessFactors
  • Proficiency in instructional design
