Job Summary:

In this position, you will play a key role on the Corporate Business Development team. You will build and maintain personal relationships with key contacts, customer organizations, strategic vendors, and partners. You will develop bid and proposal strategies and demonstrate how Bechtel can help customers achieve their objectives. Your work will expand market reach and drive growth and success for Bechtel. 

This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.


Major Responsibilities:

Level I:

  • Prepares and monitors various market profiles, customer profiles and business development activity reports as required  
  • Performs research on customers and competition and presents findings to business development colleagues and business line general management  
  • Maintains records of prospective projects and competitor information  
  • Supports engagement with new prospects and customers  
  • Develops marketing information for use by the business development team  
  • Participates in the management of the proposal development effort including producing and assembling content  
  • Stays abreast industry trends and relationships that can impact Bechtel’s business development performance  

Level II:

  • Maintains activity data in the customer relationship management system including call notes, prospect records and win plans  
  • Builds personal relationships with contacts in customer organizations, strategic vendors and partners  


Education and Experience Requirements:

Level I:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience

Level II:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10  years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience


Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • 5 years of Business Development Experience
  • Familiarity with the Battery, Data Center, and/or Semiconductor markets and the major customers
  • Established customer relationships within the Manufacturing and Technology Industry
  • Ability to grow and maintain executive level relationships
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to be a super connector across Bechtel, our customers, and our supply chain
  • Ability to think on your feet and showcase agility in front of customers and senior executives
  • Customer centric approach and philosophy to developing business
  • Long-term relationships over short-term opportunity mindset
