Position Summary
Working at the functional level, the BIM Manager reports to the GBU BIM Manager and will lead BIM execution the region. Great flexibility and proven judicious data reporting & analysis are necessary for this high visibility and significant knowledge-based role. This position provides technical expertise and guidance to senior and line management in the development of plans and programs designed to meet judicious business objectives and initiatives of the project.
Responsibilities
- Develop project Exchange Information Requirements (EIR), Asset Information Requirements (AIR) and BIM Execution plan (BEP) to meet project information delivery objectives and asset information handover requirements
- Conduct workshops with client, partners and stakeholders to develop and implement the information management strategy and plan
- Review each delivery team’s BIM Execution Plan and Information Delivery Plans in accordance with the project EIR/AIR and the relevant Scope of Work
- Responsible for supporting the development of 3D models for roads, sitework, laydown area, fabrication sites etc to support the logistics & construction activities using tools such as Civil3D, and Infraworks
- Responsible for creating renderings and visualizations
- Responsible for supporting the development of 4D models and construction sequence simulation using Infraworks, Navisworks and Synchro 4D Pro
- Ensures technical adequacy of work products in accordance with project EIR as well as the customer BIM and GIS requirements for the delivery and handover of the assets
- Demonstrate ownership of assigned actions to self and shows initiative in problem solving
- Maximize the use of project BIM and GIS environments to streamline Design & Construction Workflows
- Establish processes and methodologies for using BIM models for visualization, animation and work-planning
- Supports digital delivery responsibilities and providing project tools training and support as required
- Keep up-to-date with latest advancements in BIM and construction technology, innovation, standards and best practice
- Coordinate closely with project Digital Delivery leads, GIS & BIM Managers in planning and executing work as an integrated team
Qualifications and Skills
- BS degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university, with 12+ years of relevant experience.
- 7+ years of experience in digital delivery/VDC & information management
- Advanced knowledge and experience using Infraworks and related processes for managing and collaborating content within project shared/published CDE (BIM360/ ACC / Aconex) & GIS platform
- Experience with creating 3D and 2D models using Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Civil3D
- Experience in creating AR/VR models for client presentation, value engineering and optioneering
- Experience with model federation and aggregating from different authoring platforms (RVT, DWG, FBX, IFC, etc) into Navisworks/ Infraworks for visualizing, reviewing, BOQ and reporting
- Experience in implementing ISO 19650 Information Management Principles and Framework
- Strong technical writing skills (writing technical instructions, procedures, etc.) and presentation skills
- Experience with using PowerApps and Power BI
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience in EPC work processes and tools, while learning and understanding client environment and unique requirements.
- Experience in supporting the tender process from conceptual design through to RFP, Bid evaluation, selection, negotiation, and execution.
- Knowledge of GIS, Revit, Sketchup, Rhino, and 3DS Max tools
- Experience in GeoBIM for integrating BIM models into GIS maps
- Experience with BIM Interoperability tools for model data compliance checking
- Knowledge of Oracle/SQL and other relational databases
- Experience in programming (C++ or python)
- Experience with using Dynamo & Forge
