POSTION SUMMARY: 

 

The BIM Automation Specialist is responsible for supporting projects across all Global Business Units (GBUs) on implementing the BIM execution plans, assist on deploying and supporting construction automation tools across projects. The role will be part of the Corporate Digital Delivery team and contribute directly to our Corporate Construction standards and project support work. 

 

The role is accountable for identifying and implementing Innovative concepts, work processes and tools to meet strategic project requirements, lower cost and reduce project duration.   

The candidate will need to have experience implementing BIM Execution Plans to meet Employer’s Information Requirements and have good knowledge on Advanced Work Packaging.  

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:  

  • Promote Bechtel’s Zero accident philosophy in safety and promote other corporate initiatives such as quality and improving Corporate Construction Automation communication in Bechtel. 
  • Responsible for interfacing with projects across all Bechtel GBU’s and support BIM execution and implementation.  
  • Communicates complex technical issues and recommends solutions. 
  • Works with projects to resolve technical and work process issues related to the construction automation tools and BIM execution. 
  • Provide backup support for other Digital Delivery applications. 
  • Staying current with new technologies that will benefit Bechtel Construction and applying them where appropriate. 
  • Responsible for preparing presentations for Corporate Construction Automation as requested by senior management. 
  • Coordinate with the Infrastructure PIM team to identify BIM solutions that will enhance interoperability between Autodesk Suite and Digital Delivery tools.      
  • Position requires travel to project sites and other offices to support when required. 
  • Coordinate and conduct training sessions on Autodesk tools. 
  • Lead the effort to map the Advanced work packaging concept in the BIM execution plan and 3D models. 
  • Leverage experience and 3D skillset to contribute to other digital transformation efforts with other 3D platforms (Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Hexagon, Caxperts UPV, etc), as well as Microsoft Power Platform 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Level One:  Minimum of 4 years of experience in EPC industry (2 years in a field assignment mandatory)
  • Level Two:  Minimum of 6 years of experience in EPC industry (2 years in a field assignment mandatory) 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture from an accredited college or university 
  • Practical work experience sufficient to demonstrate competence and breadth in Civil, Structural and Architectural design

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to look at problems and provide innovative solutions 
  • Leadership and soft skills to effectively work with the team ensuring a smooth operation of Corporate Construction Automation 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Proficient with Autodesk design suite (e.g. Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD) – Minimum 5 years of experience 
  • Proficient with Autodesk BIM 360, and initiate solution for data interoperability with other platforms 
  • Proficient in model viewing software (e.g. Autodesk Navisworks) to present 3D model imagery for formal and informal 3D model reviews 
  • Knowledge with the use of Hexagon tools (e.g. S3D) 
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond to requests from projects on very short notice 
  • Should be a quick learner and able to adapt to changing priorities 
  • Advanced level knowledge of using MS Office suite of applications, with expert level knowledge of Excel, Power Point and Word 
  • Must have the right to work and remain in the US without visa sponsorship
