Job Summary:
In this role, you will provide support to the organization using knowledge of applications, system-level software, user security, and general computing applications. You will develop scripts, dashboards, and system processes and identify and resolve technical issues. By providing this support, you directly contribute to enhanced efficiency, customer satisfaction, and overall business success at Bechtel.
This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership. #LI-SNH
Major Responsibilities:
- Assists the support team utilizing basic knowledge of applications, system-level software, user security, and general computing applications.
- Monitors and resolves application issues for Cross Functional Applications team in supporting Integration and Interoperability Applications on projects such as Databroker, Inspec, EIS, PowerBI, and PowerApps.
- Executes and monitors scheduled system processes.
- Maintains and updates technical documents and procedures.
- Assists the support team in resolving technical issues and deliver training to teams within the business.
- Monitors and ensures timely closure of tasks\incidents received through Service Now, over e-mail or telephone.
- Works with Software Vendors (in case of COTS) and Development team (in case of in-House applications).
- Assists in managing maintenance plans and upgrading schedules for the organization's systems.
- Participates in technical discussions with the team and follows directions / decisions for setup\configure applications as required by the project.
- Troubleshoots license management issues reported.
- Amenable to work in shift operations.
- Adheres to escalation procedures.
- Performs application updates / migration / patch deployment / user access management / archival of old projects, etc.
- Performs off hour maintenance and upgrades.
- Knowledge of web/application servers & operating systems / environment like Azure cloud, Windows, PowerBI, PowerApps, Oracle, and MS-SQL Databases.
- Must have strong business acumen and ability to work with applications/product and IT teams.
- Basic analytical and diagnostic skills would be added advantage.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or other Information Technology related field with less than 1 year of experience OR 4-5 years of relevant work experience in Application Support or equivalent IT/EPC function.
- Candidates with the following will also be considered:
- Specialized courses in Automation.
- Work Experience in similar capacity with thorough understanding of the job.
- Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Good knowledge of Bechtel core EPC work processes and data flow between tools.
- Deep understanding of database structures and application architecture for supporting cross functional applications. Familiarity with Oracle, SQL Server, Access databases.
- Good understanding of data exchanges and integration. Ability to troubleshoot dataflow issues within applications.
- Good understanding of application architecture concepts and standards, set-up, and migration procedures. Understanding of data model and concepts integration.
- Basic knowledge of hardware and operating systems including system architectures, network infrastructures, client server principles.
- Expertise in integration and interoperability applications on projects such as Databroker, Inspec, and EIS.
- Knowledge of adapters and APIs for data integration with other applications, e.g. S3D, Aconex, SPPID.
