Job Summary

The  Master Data Management & Data Governance System Admin role reports to the Master Data Management & Data Governance Lead and works closely with our MDM and DG System Admin Lead to ensure cross-functional alignment in driving the data specifications, systems and architecture requirements, as well as key design paradigms, principles and methodologies. 


Job Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage our master data management and data governance platforms and associated integration, operation and health of the underlying systems
  • Support and manage, on behalf of the Master Data Management & Data Governance System Admin Lead, our future state Master Data Management (MDM) and Data Governance (DG) platforms and operations to support the business processes.
  • Participate, with other MDM and DG members in the development, setup and initial operation of MDM and DG platform systems. These activities will include:
    • Install, configure and manage MDM/DG software in a Linux environment (on-premise and cloud)
    • Performance monitoring and tuning of the Linux infrastructure supporting Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) capabilities
    • Implement the functional requirements for MDM and DG
    • Support and manage MDM and DG operational work process
    • Support DG policies and procedures, roles of business and data stewards, DG work flows, and disaster recovery and continuity of operations plan
    • Perform regular system operations audits and other health checks
    • Work with Bechtel IS&T Security team to ensure compliance
    • Support data quality profiling and reporting
    • Work with Bechtel Enterprise Integration team (EIP) to implement required data integration


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science related field
  • Strong automation skills
  • Familiarity with the following: supporting and implement application systems and platforms, database systems and associated query languages and reporting solutions, application lifecycles, data integration, and data quality and profiling
  • Experience supporting Linux based systems
  • Understanding of data centric execution platforms
  • Familiarity with role-based access control and information security
  • Proficiency in developing scripts for routine maintenance tasks
  • Proficiency with SQL development skills.
  • Proficiency in Programing Language(s)
  • Proficiency in API development and support skills
  • Proficiency around using tools to create, view and edit data
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to think out of the box and question everything


Additional Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of data governance and master data management
  • Knowledge of data quality and data integration
  • Agile Software development experience a plus
  • Experience with Java Programming Language or .NET, C# a plus
  • Experience with Oracle WebLogic Server a plus
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Containers, Docker, or Ansible a plus
  • Experience with REST APIs and/or microservices a plus
  • Knowledge of Design Thinking
