We are currently recruiting Graduate Engineers with an initial assignment supporting the AWE project. For more than 70 years, Atomic Weapons Enterprise (AWE) has supported the UK Government’s nuclear defence strategy and the Continuous at Sea Deterrent. They use nuclear know-how and technical expertise to provide innovative solutions that support the UK’s counterterrorism and nuclear threat reduction activities. Position Summary

 

Opportunities for Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Process or System Engineering graduates are available in our Infrastructure business unit, covering various sectors such as renewable energy, rail/metro systems, urban developments, airports, and highways.

 

A Bechtel Engineer is key to the success of a project during the construction phase.  The position offers a foundation for a career as a technical specialist or a manager and opportunities to travel. 

 

Typical Responsibilities

 

  • Assisting in conceptual designs, studies, reports and proposals
  • Checking suppliers’ drawings and data for compliance with specifications
  • Ensuring technical submissions comply with the accepted format and design requirements
  • Providing technical engineering input on designs, documentation and provide appropriate responses
  • Assisting in detailed development of established design concepts for systems, structures and equipment
  • Coordinating assigned work with other technical personnel as directed
  • Assisting in development and verification of project control documents and status reports

 

Skills and Qualifications

 

  • Successful candidates should be on track for a relevant 2:1 Masters Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Process or Systems Engineering or related degree
  • Work experience relevant to the area you are applying to and extra-curricular activities will assist in your application
