Mining and Metals:

Increasing production of critical minerals provides key components of clean energy technologies, from wind turbines to batteries. This shift to clean energy—and the need for commodities—is critical to underpinning the energy transition. At Bechtel, our teams extract these vital resources to support net zero in a way which is more sustainable than ever before.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will provide project field engineering specialization and expertise with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and subcontract coordination. Your recommendations will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements. 

Major Responsibilities:

• Providing high level knowledge and expertise in a particular discipline, subject matter, or specialized process required for construction (e.g., tunnel boring, site de-watering, glove boxes, special coatings systems, HVAC systems, Fire Detection and Suppression, reactor tender gallery coordinator, etc.) 
• Providing expert technical consultation support to projects. 
• Preparing construction drawings and sketches. 
• Leading preparation of construction drawings and schedules and the design of temporary construction facilities and ensures preparation of "as built" drawings and other job plans.     
• Initiating requisitions for field purchases.  
• Preparing quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment. 
• Overseeing the verification of commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.  
• Ensuring zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely. 
• Proactively considering continuous learning or shows interest to pursue appropriate learning activities.

STR / Subcontract Coordinator 

• Reviewing and approving inspection test plans.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires Civil Engineer (or international equivalent) with experience in Marine Works and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Preferably knowledge or post degrees related to maritime works.
• Port Engineering and Geotechnics applied to Maritime Works Systems related to the advances in maritime works.
