Project Overview:
Bechtel is pursuing a significant new award of work in Egypt. The Project will cover the development of luxurious residential, commercial, and recreational spaces, tourism amenities, and economic zones. If successful, Bechtel’s contract for the delivery of this project will be for project management and construction management services.
Job Summary:
The Project HR Staffing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating HR support to project hiring managers and employees on a range of Human Resources (HR) activities. The duties will include: assistance and coordination with staffing, on-boarding, HR Policy and assignment conditions discussions, and employee mobilization and demobilization. Flexibility and teamwork are key in this role as this is a high-volume, detail-oriented position.
Major Responsibilities:
- Support staffing for the project, including liaison with project hiring managers, and maintenance of SmartStaff updates as required. This includes oversight of project staffing plans in coordination with Project Controls.
- Working with the Operations Supervisor, support employee mobilization and demobilization schedules and release dates in alignment with project staffing plans including short term assignment tracking. This includes preparation of completion paperwork for project personnel in accordance with local legal and company requirements as applicable.
- Review of employee allowances including any necessary per diem and allowance modifications in conjunction with People Operations.
- Support Visa and Immigration Compliance working with regional teams.
- Provide support to the Training Coordinator in the areas of onboarding and welcome packages for employees, as needed.
- Ensure that project work rules are compliant with Bechtel policy and local laws. Have an awareness of local/national safety codes.
- Work with the Project and regional HR teams to ensure processes are in place to align with Bechtel HR policies and local requirements.
- Support and facilitate other specific Human Resources activities as assigned by Project HR Management which may include project specific reporting requirements (working with People Operations teams, as required).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or other relevant discipline from an accredited university along with three to five years of relevant experience OR 6-9 years of relevant work experience and education in lieu of degree.
- A minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in a generalist HR role including project support experience is preferred
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Must maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Ability to interpret HR policy and processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRMS systems is an advantage in this role
- Must be fluent in English and Arabic (written and oral)
