Project Overview:

Bechtel is pursuing a significant new award of work in Egypt. The Project will cover the development of luxurious residential, commercial, and recreational spaces, tourism amenities, and economic zones. If successful, Bechtel’s contract for the delivery of this project will be for project management and construction management services.  This position is contingent upon project award, client approval and staffing plan changes. 

Job Summary:

As an HR Operations Professional, you will interact with Bechtel staff to answer and resolve inquiries on HR policies, ensure alignment and effectiveness of activities, compare with industry trends, and recommend and coordinate process improvements. You will coordinate employee engagement initiatives and drive operational efficiency to achieve desired results. 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop project procedures in alignment with country and local legislation, customer requirements, and company policies
  • Ensure that employee contracts, immigration paperwork/records and other key project employee documentation follows regulatory requirements in Egypt
  • Understand and stay informed about current and new country regulations and laws affecting the project
  • May interact with various government agencies, as required
  • Conduct audits and reviews to ensure the project is in compliance with customer and legal requirements
  • Develop and coordinate employee and management training about key compliance issues
  • Develop and/or utilize databases and Power BI dashboards to allow regular and clear reporting to management
  • Protect the confidentiality and integrity of corporate information from unauthorized disclosure / modification / destruction and data collection / privacy of all workers on the project by taking appropriate measures
  • Work closely with in-country, Global Business Unit (GBU), and Human Resources (HR) main offices to ensure the project is up to date on new programs, procedures and reporting requirements
  • Work closely with the country and/or regional offices to ensure employees have been correctly registered with various benefits and/or allowances and other employee requirements
  • Provide day-to-day direction over other HR and administrative professionals to accomplish the goals of the project, as required
  • Develop company HR operational knowledge working with experienced Bechtel HR personnel in support of the project
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Requires the ability to perform high-volume, detail-oriented work
  • Effective oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to interpret HR policy and processes
  • Experience and demonstrated skill in identifying problem areas, and investigating alternative solutions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRMS systems
