Project Overview:
The rapid growth of AI and digitalization is fueling unprecedented demand for data centers that require large, reliable sources of energy. In response to this market trend, the Renewables & Clean Power (R&CP) team have signed an early works contract to build one of the largest gas fired power generation facilities in the U.S. Our team is helping the customer progress early-stage development, that would lead to the start of full EPC delivery next year.
We're seeking an experienced candidate to be the Project Equipment Maintenance Superintendent on the CCGT Project in Pecos, Texas. You will locate on a long-term assignment to the project in Pecos, TX. This position is contingent upon project award.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will lead a team and direct field equipment operations, and develop equipment plans, cost estimates, and operating budgets for large domestic and international projects. You will direct strategic planning for optimal fleet utilization, schedules, cost studies, and training. Your input will support the implementation of safety plans, best practices, lessons learned, and process improvement. #LI-TH1
Major Responsibilities:
- Works on small to medium projects responsible for equipment operations within a project.
- Directs field equipment operations, develops equipment plans, cost estimates, and operating budgets for domestic and international projects within a region.
- Works with projects and GBU management to provide strategic planning for optimal fleet utilization.
Planning
- Provides technical consultation support to Bechtel projects worldwide and provides technical input and support for Work Process Procedure (WPP) development, lessons learned review, and construction best practice identification
- Participates in Six Sigma Process Improvement Program (PIP) teams when requested
- Assists with the product training and improvements needed to directly support construction and estimating teams as well as auditing program implementation for all sites as needed.
- Supervises the administration and availability of fleet usage (utilization). Directs and controls the repairs and maintenance of fleet equipment and ensures maintenance of service documents are up to standards.
Safety and Quality
- Monitors and ensures that the quality of work performed meets requirements.
- Implements and enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by BEO management.
- Ensures Zero Accident Philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and in safe operational order.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelors degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment systems and maintenance practices
- Ability to manage preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability
- Experience leading maintenance teams and coordinating resources
- Skills in project planning, scheduling, and budget control
- Understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards
- Well developed communication and reporting abilities
- Basic data analysis and maintenance software proficiency
- Heavy industrial direct hire construction experience commensurate with the type of work to be undertaken.
- Experience managing technical services subcontracts.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead team members effectively & positively in a collaborative team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve in high pressure situations.
- Experience in oil, gas, refinery, petrochemical, minerals processing or power generating station construction.
- Sound knowledge in MS Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and other common applications used in the construction industry.
- Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
