Project Overview:
Port Arthur LNG, LLC (PALNG) is developing a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on a site located on the western shoreline of the Port Arthur Canal in Jefferson County, Texas. The project base scope will include two (2) identical LNG trains, two (2) LNG Storage Tanks, one (1) LNG Carrier Berth, and associated utilities/facilities. The Project is to be constructed on a parcel of land located along State Highway 87 south of Port Arthur, Texas, between the inner coastal waterway bridge and Keith Lake. As the #1 LNG EPC contractor by installed capacity, Bechtel has the capability to successfully deliver a broad range of LNG projects through our integrated EPC self-perform model, strategic partnerships, and proven experience in LNG project delivery. Partnering with Bechtel means lower cost, shorter delivery schedules, and greater certainty of outcomes for our customers.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will monitor and organize craft professionals planning, safety, quality, and technical activities on a complex project with multiple stakeholders’ involvement, through the coordination and instruction of management staff. Your field supervision will help ensure operations are planned to coincide with overall established schedules and that work methods are planned and executed safely. #LI-TH1
Major Responsibilities:
- Monitors and organizes craft professional activities, through coordination and instruction of management staff within the area of responsibility.
- Role supports on mid-size projects of medium to high complexity with multiple stakeholders’ involvement.
Planning:
- Monitors construction schedules, resource charts, and material and equipment requirements.
- Reviews construction methods, schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements.
- Coordinates the construction operations impact on external interfaces to ensure they coincide with the overall established schedules.
Safety / Quality:
- Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements
- Enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management.
Technical:
- Supports Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents
- Coordinates engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.
- Coordinates with Design on constructability issues.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Team leader that leads by example with experience of hydro and pneumatic testing.
- Good communication skills that can direct craft professionals and report status and concerns to management.
- Can organize daily work activities and coordinate with other work groups.
- Must be flexible with work schedule and willing to work weekends and overtime.
- Strong expertise in overseeing the testing and inspection of piping systems to ensure they meet safety and quality standards.
- Experience on construction site especially along the U.S. Gulf Coast. Experience in oil, gas, refinery, petrochemical, minerals processing or power generating station construction is preferred.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications
- Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards. Excellent communication and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to develop 3-week look ahead schedule for piping operations
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead teams
Additional Information:
Work includes field inspections and the physical ability to conduct field inspections which require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.).
