Project Overview:

Port Arthur LNG, LLC (PALNG) is developing a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on a site located on the western shoreline of the Port Arthur Canal in Jeferson County, Texas. The project base scope will include two (2) identical LNG trains, two (2) LNG Storage Tanks, one (1) LNG Carrier Berth, and associated utilities/facilities. The Project is to be constructed on a parcel of land located along State Highway 87 south of Port Arthur, Texas, between the inner coastal waterway bridge and Keith Lake. The Infrastructure Global Business Unit (GBU) is executing site civil and marine scopes of work associated with our scopes of work on the Energy GBU LNG projects.

The Infrastructure Global Business Unit (GBU) is executing site civil and marine scopes of work associated with our scopes of work on the Energy LNG projects.

Job Summary:

The Marine Construction Superintendent is responsible for managing, coordinating, and administering the build of Infrastructure scoped marine facilities from planning through procurement, construction, and turn-over. Monitors and organizes subcontractor & direct hire activities, through coordination and instruction of the team within the area of responsibility. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires a review of a variety of factors. Demonstrates judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks and connects with internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Leadership / Supervision (Discipline Supervision of superintendents supporting 50 to 100 craft or Responsible for Area/Facility) 
  • Supervises and directs craft activities, subordinate superintendents, and others, as assigned. (Direct Hire) 
  • Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft. (Direct Hire) 

Planning / Productivity 

  • Determines workforce requirements.  
  • Coordinates established area operational plans.  

Tools, Materials & Equipment 

  • Oversees tool and equipment usage on the site.   
  • Manages the preparation of Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the craft professionals have the tools they require to be productive.  

Safety & Quality 

  • Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.  
  • Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors’ performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets.   

Technical 

  • Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents 
  • Manages engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and  Craft Professionals. 

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13  years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience with Marine piling and shoreline protection is preferred
  • Ability to develop planning construction methods and procedures.
  • Experience managing projections and schedules for workforce, material, and equipment requirements
  • Prior exposure to reviewing installation work packages to foreman and general foreman
  • Experienced in the review of project controls documents on progress relating to cost and schedule.
  • Able to actively participate in the development of level 4 and level 5 project schedules
