Project Overview:
Port Arthur LNG, LLC (PALNG) is developing a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on a site located on the western shoreline of the Port Arthur Canal in Jefferson County, Texas. The project base scope will include two (2) identical LNG trains, two (2) LNG Storage Tanks, one (1) LNG Carrier Berth, and associated utilities/facilities. The Project is to be constructed on a parcel of land located along State Highway 87 south of Port Arthur, Texas, between the inner coastal waterway bridge and Keith Lake. As the #1 LNG EPC contractor by installed capacity, Bechtel has the capability to successfully deliver a broad range of LNG projects through our integrated EPC self-perform model, strategic partnerships, and proven experience in LNG project delivery. Job Summary:
In this role, you will lead a team to provide rigging/heavy haul engineering support to a large project. You will review and approve transport studies, determine equipment requirements, develop strategies for project management, assign work tasks, and monitor progress. Your team will ensure the project has the rigging resources available with the proper qualifications to support the planned work scopes. #LI-TH1
Major Responsibilities:
GBU / Reg CRE
- Manages a team of rigging/heavy haul engineers providing rigging/heavy haul engineering support to a large project OR manages a team of rigging/heavy haul engineers as the GBU or regional lead CRE.
- Assigns work tasks and monitors progress and quality of assigned tasks.
- Directs and guides rigging/heavy haul engineers in the preparation of conceptual (and working) lift and transport studies.
- Provides subject matter expertise and technical support in developing rigging, heavy haul, transport, and lift strategies for project management and field engineering personnel.
- Mentors, trains, and develops subordinate personnel.
Lead Rigging/Heavy Haul Supt
- May serve as Lead Rigging Superintendent, providing discipline supervision of superintendents
- Provides oversight & technical direction to subordinates and subcontractors.
- Coordinates with Superintendents and the Lead Project Rigging Engineer to validate manpower and rigger qualification requirements.
- Reviews weekly scheduled work plans with discipline superintendents to ensure the project has the rigging resources available with the proper qualifications to support the planned work scopes.
- Ensures that scheduling concerns and constraints are identified and elevated to the construction management team.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience on an LNG construction site especially along the U.S. Gulf Coast.
- Heavy industrial direct hire construction experience commensurate with the type of work to be undertaken.
- Experience in oil, gas, refinery, petrochemical, minerals processing or power generating station construction is preferred.
- Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications.
- Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to read and interpret crane manufacturers operator’s manual and load charts Experienced in safe use and inspection of rigging hardware
- Ability to develop 3 week look ahead schedule in regards to crane operations Monitor and track utilization of all site cranes Certified rigger/signal person. NCCCO, NCCCER or equivalent
- Certified crane operator, NCCCO, NCCER or equivalent.
- Certified OSHA crane inspector Bechtel Certified Rigging Engineer (CRE) certification.
