Project Overview:

Port Arthur LNG, LLC (PALNG) is developing a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on a site located on the western shoreline of the Port Arthur Canal in Jefferson County, Texas. The project base scope will include two (2) identical LNG trains, two (2) LNG Storage Tanks, one (1) LNG Carrier Berth, and associated utilities/facilities. The Project is to be constructed on a parcel of land located along State Highway 87 south of Port Arthur, Texas, between the inner coastal waterway bridge and Keith Lake. The Infrastructure Global Business Unit (GBU) is executing site civil and marine scopes of work associated with our scopes of work on the Energy GBU LNG projects. As the #1 LNG EPC contractor by installed capacity, Bechtel has the capability to successfully deliver a broad range of LNG projects through our integrated EPC self-perform model, strategic partnerships, and proven experience in LNG project delivery. Partnering with Bechtel means lower cost, shorter delivery schedules, and greater certainty of outcomes for our customers.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will monitor and organize subcontractor planning, safety, quality, and technical activities on a complex project with multiple stakeholders’ involvement, through the coordination and instruction of subcontractor’s management staff. Your field supervision will help ensure operations are planned to coincide with overall established schedules and that work methods are planned and executed safely.

Major Responsibilities:

Leadership / Supervision (Discipline Supervision up to 25 craft) 

• Supervises and/or directs craft activities as assigned.  
• Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft. 

Planning / Productivity 

• Determines workforce requirements. 
• Coordinates established area operational plans.  
• Tools, Materials & Equipment 
• Monitors tool and equipment usage on the site.  
• Prepares Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the crafts have the tools they require to be productive.  

Safety & Quality 

• Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.  
• Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors’ performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets.   

Technical 

• Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents 
• Coordinates engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals. 

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9 -12 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Knowledge of construction methods, procedures, and sequencing for heavy industrial projects, including LNG and oil & gas facilities along the U.S. Gulf Coast.
• Knowledge of applicable industry codes, standards, and safety regulations (OSHA and company-specific).
• Skilled in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and vendor documents.
• Skilled in planning, scheduling, and developing 3-week look-ahead work plans for labor, materials, equipment, and crane operations.
• Proficient in computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and construction management tools.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with subcontractors, field engineers, and craft professionals.
• Ability to lead and manage night shift teams, ensuring safe and efficient execution of construction activities.
• Ability to monitor field performance, enforce safety and quality standards, and maintain compliance with project requirements.
• Ability to identify and resolve constructability and technical issues through coordination with engineering and design teams.
