Project Summary

 

We are currently recruiting individuals for an initial assignment delivering a critical defence infrastructure project in the Plymouth area of the UK. You will be part of a team entrusted with the success of what is a high-profile and nationally-important undertaking, working in a highly-collaborative partnership with our client and supply chain colleagues. Our responsibilities span engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning phases, delivered with a focus on safety, environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, and modern engineering and construction methodologies. Experience of the defence and nuclear sectors can be helpful, but we are equally interested in the ability of candidates to apply broader experiences in a new environment.

Position Summary

 

We are currently recruiting for a Project Controls Graduate to join our Devonport Project team, based in Plymouth. You will work closely with our experienced Project Controls team as part of a formal graduate programme.

This role has an anticipated start date of September 2022 and permits part time remote working. This provides the opportunity to work from home part of the time and in the Plymouth office approximately 5 days per fortnight.

 

 

Typical Responsibilities

 

·        Understanding the fundamental work processes used in Design and Construction

·        Supporting the development of estimates and budgets

·        Supporting the development of plans and schedules

·        Tracking performance against the budgets and schedules while correlating performance information against the work processes

·        Analysing variances of both direct hire and contract hire work activities

·        Identifying trends where deviations are about to occur unless action is taken

·        Preparing content for project and construction status reports

·        Identifying potential scope changes

·        An insight into project risks and opportunities and how they impact performance, both negatively and positively.

·        Utilising the latest software to improve reporting metrics and visibility

·        Engage with Senior Managers to understand Project Management requirements.

 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

·        Bachelors of Science degree in any discipline within Engineering, Business Administration, Construction Management, or Business Management from an accredited college or University within                   twelve (12) months of graduation date

·        Numerically literate with MS Excel, Project, Word, and PowerPoint expertise to an intermediate level

·        Ability and willingness to relocate and/or travel to domestic and/or international project jobsites

 

The position is open to United Kingdom (UK) Nationals only. Candidate must be able to obtain an SC security clearance.
