Bechtel is providing a wide variety project and contract management services, crossing all disciplines, to customers in Western Australia to support exciting capital works programmes, including in aviation, defence and energy infrastructure. We are looking for people to join us in a long-term relationship to deliver these services in and around Perth where we are working within integrated teams with our customers and to help build Bechtel’s capabilities for even greater opportunities in the future.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will lead a team to plan and coordinate the day-to-day business service operations for a project or program. You will work with clients to interpret contracts as they relate to business funding, human resources, or project administration, and negotiate with clients on behalf of the project. Your strategic recommendations will ensure that a project’s business and financial requirements are met.
Major Responsibilities:
- Procurement: Lead a portfolio of procurement programs across Perth Airport’s operations and infrastructure. Ensure compliance with procurement governance, drive continuous improvement, and deliver outcomes that provide value and support the airport’s long-term strategy.
- Pricing and Terms Negotiation: Direct pricing and terms negotiations with strategic partners, contractors, and suppliers. Secure agreements that balance commercial value, operational effectiveness, and compliance with Perth Airport’s financial and regulatory plans.
- Contract Management: Manage a broad portfolio of contracts, including major and complex agreements. Oversee planning, coordination, and supervision of contract activities to ensure consistent delivery of service-level agreements and project objectives.
- Supplier Management: Oversee supplier relationships to ensure strong, reliable performance across critical areas. Identify performance gaps, recommend and implement corrective actions, and lead renegotiations or changes to optimise supplier value and outcomes.
- Contract Requirements: Define, assess, and refine contract requirements for medium to large-scale portfolios. Ensure specifications meet operational and strategic needs, align with compliance plans, and reflect best practice in contract management.
- Budgeting: Develop and manage budgets for procurement and contract management portfolios. Conduct detailed analyses of progress and variances, ensuring accountability and alignment with Perth Airport’s financial management plan.
- Leadership and Direction: Translate Perth Airport’s commercial strategy into clear objectives. Provide direction, inspire commitment, and foster a high-performance culture that delivers exceptional outcomes.
- Performance Management: Set performance expectations for the team, monitor delivery, and provide feedback. Drive accountability by managing performance appraisals, addressing gaps, and recognising achievement, ensuring objectives are consistently met.
- Organisational Capability Building: Build organisational capability in procurement, contract management, and supplier engagement. Mentor and coach colleagues, identify development needs, and strengthen team expertise to support Perth Airport’s strategic objectives.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Master's Degree (or equivalent experience) combined with over 10 years relevant experience
