This role would support the management of risk within the project, through facilitating identification, assessment, and management of the risks (threats and opportunities).  Engage the project leadership to actively participate in the process, generating a positive risk culture with proactive action.  Undertake all responsibilities and tasks in accordance with a project charter, policies, strategies, processes, and procedures.  Proactive commitment to achieving zero injuries, zero incidents, and zero compromises. We are seeking applicants for a number of roles on a future project. Applicants should have experience of working within a live operating environment e.g. stations/transportation hubs.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Act as the program’s risk manager; provide all risk management support, including reporting.
  • Manage project risk through the facilitation of risk workshops at all project levels and function/task level;
  • Is in contact and supports Customer’s risk management program by communicating project risk information and engaging them when necessary on the project processes.
  • Support the Project Controls Manager in ensuring that all project team members comply with the risk management plans and procedures, and other risk specific requirements for their assigned scope of work.
  • Administer project ARM risk database and ensure the quality and accuracy of data therein; maintain, update records, and review risk team updates to ensure a high standard of risk management data.
  • Support and produces detailed project risk report as required within the program’s reporting cycle.
  • Support continuous improvement of risk management activities within the project team through identifying and recommending improvements for implementation.
  • Administrator for the risk tools and systems that provide the interface between project functions, Customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Facilitates the preparation of risk treatment, provides a platform to plan risk treatment.
  • Evaluate cost and schedule uncertainty to determine risk; produce analysis and reports as necessary.
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of procedures as necessary to ensure that risk management is embedded within the project going forward.

 

Job Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related to relevant project risk management experience in engineering/construction projects (not finance industry) along with 6-9 years of relevant experience or in lieu of degree, 15-19 years in project controls working in the engineering and construction industry.
  • Expert level experience in using ARM, @Risk, and Primavera Risk Analysis risk management tools.
  • Sound knowledge of risk management processes and procedures (ISO 31000).
  • Experience in producing detailed program and project level risk management reports to tight deadlines.
  • Comfortable in producing high-quality presentations and training sessions.
  • Demonstrated experience of delivering high standard risk management function within the construction or engineering industry.
  • Experience in delivery and communication of risk management processes and procedures at all levels.
  • Able to articulate schedule risk data to non-specialist audiences.
  • Problem-solving skills, able to demonstrate complex, quantitative research and analytical thinking.
  • Motivation skills, able to work autonomously or in a team environment, motivating self and others.
  • Able to build and manage working relationships at all stakeholder levels, including the customer.
  • Able to model complex cost, schedule, and risk impacts in a number of applications, commensurate to maturity of projects and programs.

 

Additional Details:

Grade 26 – Education plus 6 years or risk management or project controls related experience. 

Grade 27 – Education and 13 years of risk management or project control related experience.

 

Living Conditions: The ideal candidate will be an Australian National currently living and working in the country. Relocation is authorized for in-country moves accompanied status.
