Bechtel is providing a wide variety project and contract management services, crossing all disciplines, to customers in Western Australia to support exciting capital works programmes, including in aviation, defence and energy infrastructure. We are looking for people to join us in a long-term relationship to deliver these services in and around Perth where we are working within integrated teams with our customers and to help build Bechtel’s capabilities for even greater opportunities in the future.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will plan and conduct systems engineering work, and will review and prepare information on requirements management, verification and validation, functional analysis, and other key documents. You will prepare estimates, work plans, and assist with performance reporting. Your technical expertise and coordination will ensure outcomes meet client and project requirements.
Major Responsibilities:
- Evaluates, selects, and applies standard Systems Engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications
- Establishes means of verifying requirements implementation, including acceptance criteria
- Develops system models using Model-Based Systems Engineering methods and tools (e.g., IBM® Rationale DOORS®, Cameo Systems Modeler by CATIA or Innoslate by Spec Innovations)
- Researches, models and documents system operations and limits against required performance, using design and basis documents and discussions with system designers
- Defines facility/system functions, behaviors, and other design requirements, prepares the criteria documents and coordinates, and facilitates technical discussion to resolve system design issues
- Coordinates system-level design verification, requirements verification, test requirements specifications, and requirements flow down and traceability
- Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports or proposals
- Coordinates work and collaborates with other engineering disciplines
- Provides technical assistance to other Systems personnel and interacts with project functions, the customer, and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex regulatory issues
- Provides assistance to project and construction management in identifying and complying with project Systems requirements and in addressing issues as they arise during project execution
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Skill in working and communicating effectively, both orally and in writing, with other project functional groups. Proven ability to build strong relationships with team members and key stakeholders.
- Experience implementing requirements in major infrastructure projects.
- Experienced user of requirements management tools (i.e. DOORS).
- Experience of technical engineering and interface management within an infrastructure project.
- Demonstrated system engineering knowledge.
- Proficiency in the use of applicable computer programs, including PowerBi.
