Bechtel is providing a wide variety project and contract management services, crossing all disciplines, to customers in Western Australia to support exciting capital works programmes, including in aviation, defence and energy infrastructure. We are looking for people to join us in a long-term relationship to deliver these services in and around Perth where we are working within integrated teams with our customers and to help build Bechtel’s capabilities for even greater opportunities in the future.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will report to the Program Construction Manager - Capital Projects.
You will supervise third-party coordinators and monitor construction intefaces, safety, and quality.
You will monitor that the contractors are compliant with project policies, procedures, site rules and procedures, and that all stakeholders are informed of any interface issues or risks .
Major Responsibilities:
- Plan, program and manage the delivery of interface works within budgets.
- Monitor, manage and coordinate the integration of the works carried out by different project stakeholders, Project Contractors and Perth Airport.
- Implement and manage a process to ensure the Project Contractors and stakeholders provide the information required for the Capital Portfolio to manage the interfaces.
- Keep the Project Contractors, stakeholders and other relevant parties informed of the timing and nature of any proposed or planned works.
- Works with stakeholders and Project Contractors to prevent interference, damage or delay to the works being carried out by another stakeholder, or Project Contractor.
- Ensure Project Contractors schedules address and include allowance for work, activities and interfaces between the Project Contractors, interface contractors and stakeholders.
- Oversee the management of key construction interfaces amongst stakeholders with Perth Airport, its Project Contractors or other key stakeholders.
- Identify actual or potential interface issues between relevant parties for the works identified and record them in the Interface Issues Register.
- Work closely with Capital Portfolio management teams to plan and coordinate construction activities across the Airport Site and develop management and mitigation strategies for identified interface issues.
- Provide clear delineation of the responsibilities of the Capital Portfolio, stakeholders and Project Contractors and each relevant party in relation to each identified interface issue and details the data to be communicated by each party consistent with the contractual obligations of such parties.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
• Demonstrated experience in the successful management of major projects in the infrastructure and/or building industry.
• Knowledge of related construction practices and the economics involved and current knowledge of new methods of design and construction.
• High level of interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrable delivery of leadership and behavioural change within a large organisation and with outside organizations.
• Ability to influence and engage in a collaborative working environment with internal and external stakeholders while maintaining necessary levels of commercial awareness.
• Prior delivery partner or client-side project management experience is preferred but not essential.
