An exciting opportunity currently exists for a Mechanical Engineer with experience in the design of major/high-capacity conveyors and process plants including iron ore crushing and screening plants to join Bechtel’s Mining & Metals team in Perth.

 

With a strong pipeline of projects ranging from front end development studies to full EPCM project execution now is truly the right time to join this innovative multi-discipline team and play a key role in driving success.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Study Manager your major responsibilities will include:

 

  • Undertaking mechanical engineering activities for studies and projects.
  • Monitoring and assisting in maintaining all required engineering design per project Quality Assurance and procedures.
  • Assisting with scope and budget development in response to clients’ needs.
  • Supervising, reviewing and endorsing bid analyses of equipment material and services within engineering’s scope of responsibility.
  • Working in conjunction with our specialist Material Handling Centre of Excellence (CoE). Our CoE has developed high technology approaches to our work in this area and acts as our specialist group for Bechtel projects across the world.

About you

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree from an accredited university. (CPEng preferred).
  • Experience in engineering of process plants in Australia.
  • Strong knowledge of project engineering processes and procedures.
  • Experience in mechanical construction practices and current knowledge of new methods of design and construction.
  • Effective communication skills along with demonstrated supervision skills.
  • Solid planning and problem-solving skills.
