Project Overview:
Bechtel, a global leader in project management, engineering, procurement and construction, has been engaged to undertake a Feasibility Study through to EPCM construction and commissioning by one of our key clients.
This Project involves greenfields and brownfields developments including earthworks through challenging terrain, construction of new crushing facilities, and transmission line installations.
Job Summary:
As Engineering Planner, you will work with the project team to update and maintain the feasibility study control schedule, run regular schedule look ahead meetings, provide schedule analysis and critical path reviews.
You will also be responsible for the development and maintenance of the baseline schedule for the execution engineering phase which will be a continuation of the feasibility study, performing schedule integrations, preparing work logic, identifying restraints and potential impacts, developing recovery plans, and evaluating subconsultant schedules for improvements.
You will be instrumental in ensuring the project stays on track and on time.
This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.
Major Responsibilities:
- Develops and prepares the Engineering progress and performance tool for the Execution phase.
- Ascertains that the correct scope of work is reflected on all schedules.
- Integrates Engineering interdisciplinary schedule requirements and constraints to establish logical work sequences for assigned disciplines or specialties. Works with the performing entities to coordinate work sequences with the overall project plan.
- Establishes and implements methods for determining activity durations for engineering activities. Documents assumptions for basis of durations.
- Develops required job/hour expenditure and forecast curves for the project. Assists in determining leveling decisions and person-hours review.
- Performs person-hour loading for project schedule. Updates schedule at regular intervals with actual and forecast values for person-hours.
- Other responsibilities as designated.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience in L1, L3 and L5 schedule development and scheduling in at least 1 Bechtel (or similar Engineering Consultancy company) project.
- Previous experience in monitoring and reviewing subcontractor schedule related deliverables and conducting impact analysis for any changes in execution plan.
- Skilled in oral and written communication.
- Advanced level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and start-up work processes, as performed by Bechtel.
- Knowledge of and experience working in an EPCM environment.
- Skilled in usage of Primavera and other industry recognised tools for planning and scheduling.
Working Rights in Australia without employer sponsorship are required.
