Contracts Manager - Pluto

SUMMARY

Responsible for the support and guidance to Construction Managers, Site Managers and field personnel in Subcontract matters.  Responsible for the adherence to standard work process procedures and other tools for Subcontract administration.  Develop training materials, procedures, disseminate information for  Subcontracts personnel and performs Field Operations Reviews.  Maintain a working relationship with the Construction Team and Functional Managers.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  1. Recommend qualified candidates for Subcontract administration assignments and help identify career development opportunities for employees.
  2. Work with Project Management, Construction, Commissioning and Start-up stakeholders to deliver subcontract activities in support of the EPC Schedule.
  3. Develop and present Subcontract administration training programs and participate in other standard Subcontracts workshops.
  4. Provide Subcontract administration functional guidance to Subcontract personnel and other functional groups involved in Subcontract administration.
  5. Provide lessons learned regarding quality of performance of Subcontract administration to OG&C Corporate Contracts Operations Manager.
  6. Communicate current Subcontract management issues, information and topics of concern to field personnel through regular Bulletins and use of BecWeb.
  7. Manage Policy 230 Delegation Authority for Subcontract changes.
  8. Develop and maintain standard work processes, procedures, and work process improvement tools for Subcontract administration.
  9. Conduct Field Operation Reviews to assess effectiveness of the overall field Subcontract administration program.

JOB KNOWLEDGE

  1. Degree in Construction Management, Business, Law, Engineering or Quantity Surveying desirable.
  2. Experience and courses in contract law, Subcontract formation, administration, claims, cost and scheduling desirable.
  3. Technical and administrative knowledge of all phases of Fixed Price, Unit Price and Cost Reimbursable Subcontract management.
  4. Thorough knowledge of field and home office activities relating to Subcontract documents.
  5. Direct experience in managing workload distribution and execution of the work, as well as personnel interviewing, selection, salary planning, classification changes, performance evaluation, career counseling, transfers and terminations.
  6. Skill in working and communicating effectively, both orally and in writing, with other project functional groups such as Engineering, Construction, Project Controls, Legal, and Accounting, as well as with contractors.
  7. Strong organizational and communication skills, professional and proactive approach to mitigation of contract administration challenges and inherent business risks.
  8. Knowledge of negotiations, accounting or cost engineering gained through education or experience.
  9. Knowledge and understanding of the project functional groups and company policies, procedures and work practices, as well as associated software systems.

 

Job Requirements

  1. Candidate must have the right to work in Australia without sponsorship.
  2. Candidate must be willing to relocate to Karratha on a FIFO basis.
