Project Overview:

Minsters North (MN) is an Above Water Table (AWT) Brockman iron ore deposit located 13km south-east of the Jugari hub. The Project proposes to utilise Jugari latent processing and rail capacity through the development of MN as a satellite ore body.

 

The Project throughput of 20Mtpa will be transported from the MN to the processing plant at Jugari via haul trucks (CAT 793s). The Run of Mine (ROM) ore will be processed at Jugari via a combination of new and existing processing facilities before being transported to port via BHP’s existing rail network.

 

Job Summary:

As Construction Coordinator, you will lead a team and supervise superintendents and/or craft professionals on a project where you will direct craft professional activities and work schedules, and coordinate trade contract work activities and team development.

 

Your oversight will ensure craft professionals have the tools required to be productive, comply with project policies, procedures, and job site work rules and procedures, and perform within specifications, schedules and budgets. 

 

Major Responsibilities:

PFS Tier I - most applicable to Area Superintendents and PFSs on projects (<$250m) of moderate complexity and few stakeholders involved. 

 

Leadership / Supervision (Supervision of discipline and lead superintendents with 100+ craft) 

  • Proactively engages with their team’s development through CPM, Competency development/assessment and feedback 
  • Supervises and directs craft activities, subordinate superintendents, and others, as assigned. 

 

Planning / Productivity 

  • Determines workforce requirements. 
  • Prepares reports and forecasts, including summary of construction progress, craft personnel forecasts, and expenditures forecast. 

 

Tools, Materials & Equipment 

  • Monitors tool and equipment usage on the site.  
  • Prepares Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the crafts have the tools they require to be productive. 

 

Safety & Quality 

  • Ensures assigned construction operations and trade contractors’ performance are in compliance with specifications Responsible for the implementation of corporate/project policies, procedures, and instructions within assigned operations. 
  • Monitors work activities and ensures the quality of work performed. 

 

Technical 

  • Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents 
  • Coordinates engineering solutions with trade contractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals. 

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Monitors, organizes and directs trade contractor activities, through coordination and instruction of trade contractor’s management staff within the area of responsibility.  
  • Monitors trade contractor construction schedules, resource charts, and material and equipment requirements. 
  • Reviews trade contractor construction methods, schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements. 
  • Coordinates the construction operations impact on external interfaces to ensure they coincide with the overall established schedules. 
  • Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements 
  • Enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management. 
  • Supports Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents 
  • Coordinates engineering solutions with trade contractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals. 
  • Coordinates with Design on constructability issues.
