Job Summary:

This role of Mechanical Package Engineer with a Mechanical Engineering degree and experience in designing and selecting bulk material handling systems across Basic/Conceptual Engineering, FEED, EPCM, and EPC projects. The role involves managing design, specification, procurement, and coordination of mechanical equipment packages for copper concentrator projects, covering crushing, grinding, flotation, dewatering, and related utilities. Candidates must be skilled in equipment sizing and selection for crushers, grinding mills, screens, flotation machines, feeders, pumps, hydrocyclones, magnetic separators, thickeners, filters, air compressors, and dryers, while ensuring strong vendor coordination and adherence to Bechtel standards for large metallurgical plants.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Review and ensure quality of process package deliverables.
  • Support project and proposal activities, including coordination with global/home offices in workshare mode.
  • Develop and review technical specifications, participate in IDC, and interface with engineering teams, clients/PMC, and vendors.
  • Prepare MDS, drawings, MRQs; evaluate vendor quotes, assess deviations, raise TQs/TBEs/MRPs, and review VPs.
  • Resolve vendor and site queries; coordinate with inspection, expediting, and other agencies.
  • Support construction and commissioning and assist in progress documentation.
  • Implement lessons learned, pursue value engineering, and travel to engineering offices, vendor works, and project sites as required.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university and 4+ years of relevant work experience
  • The Mechanical Engineer will work as part of Global Bechtel team and should have basic flair for working with personnel of different nationalities. Should have a good proficiency for spoken and written English language.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Prepare engineering concepts during preliminary design and perform detailed engineering for material handling systems and equipment.
  • Apply knowledge of licensor requirements, construction features, inspection needs, material selection, and industry standards (CEMA, MSHA, OSHA, ISO, DIN, etc.).
  • Use 2D/3D CAD tools, participate in model reviews (SPR), and support large‑project execution practices.
  • Coordinate with engineering disciplines, clients/PMC, vendors, and global offices; review procedures, vendor materials, quotes, and resolve technical/site queries.
