Project Overview:
Bechtel is the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) partner on the Northrop Grumman team to deliver the Sentinel Program, which is modernizing the ground-based leg of the U.S. nuclear deterrent triad, including intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) systems and launch infrastructure. Bechtel’s scope of service in Sentinel’s current Engineering & Manufacturing Development phase focuses on the ground infrastructure component of the program.
A major contractor for the United States and allied governments, Bechtel has handled such efforts as chemical weapons demilitarization projects, missile-defense, infrastructure, base operations, procurement and project management, and restoration and recovery spanning half a century. We use our expertise to help our customers securely and effectively transform mission delivery.
Eligibility for this position requires US citizenship; successful candidate must provide proof of US citizenship in order to obtain badge access to the site. Candidate must complete security questionnaire and successfully clear site access requirements check. All employees are subject and agree to random drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment. Must be able to obtain a security clearance, as applicable.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will administer subcontracts for construction, in addition to completion of routine duties; closeout, data gathering, document preparation, presentations, and training sessions. You will prepare status reports, monitor areas of subcontract performance, and inquire on and investigate subcontract problems. Your work will contribute to efficient project execution and compliance with contractual obligations. #LI-SF1
Major Responsibilities:
- Manages multiple subcontracts of mid to high levels of complexity
- Gathers and compiles support data for the preparation of documents and the management of subcontracts
- Assists Subcontract Manager in completion of the various tasks required by the Contract/Subcontract Management Guidebook, Standard Work Process Procedures, and automated subcontract management systems
- Monitors areas of subcontract performance
- Conducts investigations and inquiries into specific subcontracts problems, as assigned
- Organizes materials for the preparation of meetings, presentations, and training sessions and prepares periodic status reports
- Works with Digital Supply Chain and other Automation Tools
Education and Experience Requirements:
Level I:
- To be considered, applicant must possess BA/BS Degree in a related field plus a minimum of 6 years construction type subcontract administration related experience, or in lieu of degree, 12 plus years of professional, related experience.
Level II:
- To be considered, applicant must possess BA/BS Degree in a related field plus a minimum of 9 years construction type subcontract administration related experience, or in lieu of degree, 15 plus years of professional, related experience.
- Must be a US citizen.
- Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check, which includes verification of employment and education.
- Must be able to obtain site security badge for access to work site.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Working knowledge of fixed-price and flexibly priced family of subcontracts with stated experience in subcontracts according to procurement regulations, policies and practices.
- Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in developing various subcontract types and contract terms.
- Experience in developing and recommending potential solutions to contractual problems and concerns to management.
- Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
- Understanding of Federal Contracts and the flow-down of applicable clauses and requirements.
- Experience in change management requirements.
- Knowledge of engineering/construction industry contracting practices.
- Specialized courses or experience in pricing, contract law, negotiations, accounting and subcontract administration with emphasis on federal contracting.
