Project Overview:
Bechtel is the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) partner on the Northrop Grumman team to deliver the Sentinel Program, which is modernizing the ground-based leg of the U.S. nuclear deterrent triad, including intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) systems and launch infrastructure. Bechtel’s scope of service in Sentinel’s current Engineering & Manufacturing Development phase focuses on the ground infrastructure component of the program.
A major contractor for the United States and allied governments, Bechtel has handled such efforts as chemical weapons demilitarization projects, missile-defense, infrastructure, base operations, procurement and project management, and restoration and recovery spanning half a century. Job Summary:
In this role, you will serve as an Information & Digital (IS&T) Service Center analyst, supporting the Information Technology (IT) Plan for all Sentinel sites, but based in the Sentinel project office in Ogden, UT. The assignment includes the implementation of information technology systems and services in coordination with Sentinel project and NS&E requirements. Provides comprehensive automation support and coordination to the project end users. Performs work that requires the application of fundamental technical information systems and technology principles in a variety of contexts, some of them complex and non-routine in an office, construction, and mobile environment. #LI-TN1
Major Responsibilities:
- Assists end users with automation related tasks and resolves application software and hardware problems, escalating to higher tier support when needed.
- Works with end users via phone, in-person deskside visit, or Service Center walk up.
- Performs workstation maintenance tasks including Microsoft program upgrades and deployments.
- Reviews and creates documentation related to help desk support tools and products.
- Keeps abreast of the latest hardware and software standards approved by NS&E.
- Supports software installations and problem resolution in the Bechtel Sentinel DoW collateral area (includes both Windows and Linux operating environments)
- Participates in special projects as directed by the I&D management team.
- Ensures a safe working environment within the Service Center and Communication room work areas.
- Provide after-hours emergency IS&T support to the project as required.
- Consistent local travel and periodic regional travel required.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- End-user devices including PCs, printers, and mobile device technologies
- Windows workstation and server technologies
- Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and other project standard applications.
- Workstation Image building and deployment.
- Ethernet and TCP\IP fundamentals of interconnectivity.
- I&D Service Center Analyst must be proficient with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Android, and Apple IOS products.
- Knowledge of procurement and property management processes in a govt environment.
Ability to interface with customers in a personable, effective, and timely manner. - Experience with supporting mobile, desktop, and centrally hosted applications. (VMware, Citrix, and RDSH).
Preferred qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Cybersecurity and security practices in a Department of War (Defense) or Department of Energy environment.
- History of holding a security clearance (either DOE or DOD/DOW)
- Previous IS&T experience supporting a Construction or Engineering environment
- Microsoft Active Directory experience
- Microsoft or CompTIA certifications (Azure, AD, Security+, etc.)
- Experience with Linux and/or other Unix operating systems is highly desirable
