Project Overview:
Bechtel is the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) partner on the Northrop Grumman team to deliver the Sentinel Program, which is modernizing the ground-based leg of the U.S. nuclear deterrent triad, including intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) systems and launch infrastructure. Bechtel’s scope of service in Sentinel’s current Engineering & Manufacturing Development phase focuses on the ground infrastructure component of the program.
A major contractor for the United States and allied governments, Bechtel has handled such efforts as chemical weapons demilitarization projects, missile-defense, infrastructure, base operations, procurement and project management, and restoration and recovery spanning half a century. Job Summary:
The Sentinel (GBSD) Project is looking for someone to join the Environmental, Safety and Health (ES&H) team as an ES&H Coordinator and Data Analyst. The position is responsible for overseeing office ES&H campaigns, the aggregation of data, conducting trend analysis, developing automated reporting processes, statistical reporting, and managing records in commercial and in-house developed software applications. The position reports directly to the Program ES&H Manager and receives direction from the Program ES&H Manager and the Program Director. As part of the coordination duties, there will be a need to work with functional and Business Unit ES&H personnel, Human Resources, Legal, Risk Management, Construction, Engineering, Procurement and Contract Departments to obtain and coordinate required information and data for report purposes. #LI-EH1
Major Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Data Collection & Management: Identify, gather, and organize data from primary and secondary sources, ensuring high quality and accuracy.
- Data Analysis: Use statistical techniques and tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python) to analyze large datasets, finding trends, patterns, and anomalies.
- Reporting & Visualization: Create reports, dashboards, and other visualizations to communicate data-driven insights to non-specialist audiences and leadership. Excellent ability to translate technical data into clear, understandable insights for various audiences.
- System Maintenance: Design, develop, and maintain data systems and databases, including fixing errors and monitoring performance.
- Collaboration: Work with engineers, programmers, and other teams to identify data needs, implement process improvements, and develop data governance strategies.
- Insight Generation: Interpret findings and present them in a way that helps the organization make better business decisions and improve practices.
- Monitoring and managing database records, inclusive of incident events, audits, assessments, and inspections
- Developing ad hoc and monthly reports for project and company leadership
- Design relational and multi-dimensional Power BI data models
- Quality control and assurance of data streams
- Performs special assignments that require knowledge of Bechtel policies, instructions, systems, processes, procedures and organizational structure, with the ability to analyze, interpret, and make recommendations and implement required actions.
- Assist in the development and distribution of project ES&H policies, procedures, specifications, alerts, bulletins, and other similar information.
- Assist in the coordination and execution of ES&H programs and campaigns applicable to the project (home office initiatives, Floor Wardens, Emergency Drills, etc.).
- Assist with conducting inspections, audits, and reviews of ES&H execution in the home office and at remote construction sites, and collecting results and data to report the success of the ES&H execution.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a science related field with 1-2 years of experience; or 5-6 years relevant experience in project controls, administration, data management, ES&H program coordination, in lieu of degree.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a science related field; or, 4 years related experience in project controls, administration, data management, ES&H program coordination, in lieu of degree.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite programs, including Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, and Power BI, and HTML programing with capability to develop, maintain and utilize spreadsheets, databases, and dashboards
- Analytical skills to interpret data and recommend adjustments to internal stakeholders
- Skilled in oral and written communications and documentation skills
- Initiative-taker with strong abilities in multi-tasking and prioritization of daily work
- Preferred:
- Knowledge of engineering/scientific systems, methods, and work processes
- Experience in safety/health assessments/inspections during construction
- Experience in Project Controls, Accounting, or Quality Assurance
