Project Overview:
Bechtel National, Inc. (BNI), Bechtel’s government services business, is one of the top providers to departments and agencies of the U.S. and British governments. Its successes include many large, first-of-a-kind projects in government site management, environmental restoration, defense, space, energy, and national and homeland security. This position will provide support to the Uranium Processing Facility (UPF) located at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
UPF is a multi-year, multi-billion-dollar project and will be a first-of-its-kind complex for enriched uranium operations in support of Y-12 missions. UPF is one of the Department of Energy’s largest investments in Tennessee since the Manhattan Project and one of the National Nuclear Security Administration’s largest construction projects. When complete, UPF will: replace a 70-year-old facility with modern buildings, reduce operational costs and energy consumption, improve worker safety, and provide enriched uranium capabilities well into the future.
The UPF project works on a 4/10 schedule. Start times are flexible but the standard work week is: Monday - Thursday from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Eligibility for this position requires US citizenship; successful candidate must provide proof of US citizenship in order to obtain badge access to the site. Candidate must complete security questionnaire and successfully clear site access requirements check. All employees are subject and agree to random drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment. Must be able to obtain a security clearance, as applicable.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will establish, administer, and implement the suite of startup applications, automation tools, workflows, data transfers, and templates according to the project automation plan. You will configure reporting according to requirements, ensure accuracy, and analyze feedback and trends. You will make recommendations for improvements and ensure reports are functioning as intended. #LI-EH1
Major Responsibilities:
- Supports the suite of Startup Automation applications on the jobsite
- Establishes data requirements for the startup automation tools in accordance with the project automation plan, designing/developing workflows, forms, and templates for automation tools
- Assists with functional project automation support to ensure startup applications comply with Startup work-processes and procedures
- Customizes applications and reports (e.g., SmartCompletions, Q4Safety, PowerBI, SQL server reporting services (SSRS), etc.) to support startup reporting requirements
- Prepares test plans, migration plans, job aids, and new release forms for new versions of startup automation tools before they are released for use
- Acts as startup automation main point of contact during construction, commissioning, and turnover phases of the project
- Develops relationships across integrated teams, contractors, and third parties
- Supports reviews of performance curves, metrics, trackers, and user feedback to show trends, and use in improvements
- Recommends adjustments in coordination with the Project Startup Manager, Project Field Engineer, and Site Manager
- Manages output data and prepares startup reports with direction from Project Startup Manager, Project Field Engineer, and Site Manager
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- In-depth knowledge in the areas of and knowledge of principles and practices related to software automation.
- Good knowledge of related construction and engineering practices and the economics involved.
- Excellent computer skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience preparing and presenting test procedures and reports
