Project Overview:
The Nuclear, Security & Environmental (NS&E) global business unit draws from Bechtel’s proven competencies and experience in engineering, procurement, construction, startup and operations, and project management to partner with various government agencies and commercial nuclear customers in their mission to improve lives in the United States and around the world.

Job Summary:
This is a casual position to support projects and the construction function on as needed basis. Assigned to NS&E Construction functional group to support the Deputy Manager of Construction in preparing and gathering information to support the development of proposals, construction execution, plans, schedules, and estimates.
Casual employees are those clerical, professional or technical employees hired to work on a temporary replacement basis or for a limited period of time. They are paid on an hourly basis. Employment is offered with no guarantee of hours to be worked per week or guarantee of consecutive days or weeks of employment. Casual employees should not work an average of more than 30 hours per week/130 hours per month.Use of a casual employee in any one position for more than six months (except as replacement for a salaried employee on leave of absence) requires approval by the appropriate hiring authority as detailed in Schedule 100A.Where required, casual status employees will be provided the requisite amount of paid sick leave to meet the statutory requirements. Summer hires and Co-op hires as defined in Personnel Policy 803 are hired in hourly status.Casual employees, summer hires, and co-op hires who are covered by the Service Contract Act will receive the Health and Welfare payment, Paid Time Off, and holiday pay in accordance with the applicable wage determination. #LI-CL1
Major Responsibilities:
- Works on front end construction execution planning for Nuclear Proposals.
- Provides constructability input to front end proposals and FEEDs.
- Creates construction execution plans and deliverables required in proposals.
- Development of detail construction estimates such as Construction Equipment Schedules, Field Professional Staffing Plans, Indirect Professional Craft Plans, Temporary Facility Plans, and Temporary Utility Plans.
- Development of presentation materials for estimate and proposal reviews.
- Develops Construction execution strategies and collaborate with other functions during the proposal and early project planning phase.
- Provides consultation, technical guidance and direction to Construction and other support functions.
- Manages the successful completion of activities related to the construction of assigned projects.
- Assists in development of standard construction method.
- Oversees the review of standard plans and specifications for constructability.
- Reviews and evaluates new methods and concepts.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree and 13- 15 years of experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong understanding of Bechtel Construction practices, process improvement methodologies, and current innovative trends within the Construction industry.
- Previous Field Engineering and Construction Supervision experience.
- Working knowledge of unit rate and Production Factor development.
- Strong knowledge of Bechtel Standard Applications used in Construction such as TEAMWorks, ETrack, Infoworks, BPS, Smartplant Review, NavisWorks, SetRoute, etc.
- Produces high quality presentations for Senior Management and project leadership teams. Proven clear and concise presentation skills.
- Must be proficient in various forms of communication to work across the globe for all nuclear projects which includes multiple time zones, languages, and communication channels.
- Ability to connect with project teams from off the project. Proficient in building a support network to identify improvement opportunities that impact the bottom line.
- A critical aspect of the job is to be able to pitch ideas to project teams and senior management that will drive an improvement to Construction productivity.
