Job Summary:
In this role, you will participate in the design, development, configuration, administration, and evaluation of operational technology (OT) cyber components and processes. You will prepare studies, specifications, and requisitions for information & digital (I&D) and Industrial Control System (ICS) equipment. You will contribute to ensuring adequate input and technical guidance for engineering team members, I&D, and vendors working on deliverables to achieve a common goal.
Major Responsibilities:
- Evaluates, selects, and applies standard OT Cyber engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications
- Participates in the design, development, modification and evaluation of control systems components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs)
- Administration of Windows Active Directory, Group Policy, VMWare and server management in a project environment by providing a highly available and secure environment that meets the government mandated cyber security requirements (e.g., Risk Management Framework) in accordance with appropriate standards (e.g., NIST SP 800-53, 800-82, CNSSI 1253, etc.)
- Coordinates work and collaborates with other engineering disciplines
- Provides technical assistance to other OT Cyber personnel and will interact with project functions, the customer, and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex regulatory issues and industry codes and standards
- Provides assistance to project and construction management in identifying and complying with project OT Cyber requirements and in addressing issues as they arise during project execution
- Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals
- Plans, coordinates, or prepares Control Systems components or work package specifications
- Ensures adequate input and technical guidance to other engineering team members, I&D and vendors working on deliverables
- Prepares detailed technical specifications, data sheets, and requisitions for I&D and Control Systems equipment
- Provide automation support for the ICS
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree from a US accredited institution in Cybersecurity, Operational Technology, Information Technology, Computer Science, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related discipline, with 2-5 years of related experience. In lieu of degree, 6-8 years of related professional experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- This position requires US citizenship. Successful candidate must provide proof of US citizenship in order to obtain badge access to the site. Must either possess a DOE Q clearance or have the ability to obtain one.
- Experience in Configuration management practices and processes.
- Strong problem solving and end-user support skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows 10 and Microsoft Server Administration.
- Experience with Software/firmware installation and upgrade; performing regular maintenance on network devices as required. Understanding of infrastructure and network architecture, design, LAN/WAN implementation, and Windows/Linux environments.
- Ability to Manage Windows Active Directory, Group Policy and Windows Event/Audit Logs.
- Ability to Manage VMWare environment and Manage Server back-ups.
- Experience helping cross-functional teams understand Information Technology and Operations Technology as it pertains to Industrial Control Systems.
- Candidate has excellent written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- DOD 8750 IAT/IAM L1/L2/L3 certification
- Strong experience designing, configuring and managing Windows Active Directory, Group Policy, Event/Audit Logs, VMWare environment, and Backups
- In-depth understanding of Network Security, L2/L3 Networking, and virtual environments
- Working knowledge of ICS/SCADA communication protocols
- Experience working with various vendors control system software (Schneider, ABB Emerson, Honeywell, Allen Bradley, etc.)
- Configure and manage MS SQL. Hands-on or extensive working knowledge with Control Systems engineering tasks, assignments, and studies (e.g., control cabinet layout and wiring, network design, control systems hardware and software design, etc.)
- Experience with software management in accordance with NQA-1a-2009
- Experience reviewing ICS/SCADA Cybersecurity related policies and procedures
