  • Salary Range: $119,780 - $182,670 annually (Determined by function, education, experience, and qualifications of the applicant. A 15% salary uplift is provided on top of base salary for positions that are worked in New York City or San Francisco, which is subject to change depending on market conditions.).

Position Summary:

This Project Risk Manager role is a key role within project management team responsible for managing the project risk management program on this exciting project. Responsible for setting up the risk management program for this major project and provide day to day guidance, support, and SME technical expertise across an audience of internal and external stakeholders. Managing and maintaining resilient customer facing relationships and strategically maintaining trust of project leadership, the role requires an influential, confident people person with the ability to drive focus on PRM, lead through encouragement and connect PRM with key interfaces across the project scope. This role reports to the Project Manager. 

 

Positions Responsibilities:

  • Manage/Lead the project risk management program across the project.
  • Drive focus on actively managing risks.
  • Mentor, train, and advise project leaders in risk awareness.
  • Deliver training in project risk management.
  • Facilitate context focused Workshops monthly.
  • Deliver to the Project Execution Plan and develop specific project risk management procedures.
  • Report top risks and quantitative analysis to key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Represent the project risk management program at project leadership meetings.
  • Consult with Bechtel and customer leaders in all aspects of the project risk management program.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision to meet multiple deadlines simultaneously under pressure. 

 

Qualifications and Skills:

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience in Qualitative Risk
  • Ability to establish Quantitative Risk Management (QSRA QCRA)
  • Experience facilitating risk workshops, risk reviews/ sessions.
  • 15 years of professional experience in engineering and construction with minimum 5 years direct responsibility for management. 
  • More than 10 years of Rail and transportation experience
  • Experience working in NYC rail sector preferably.
  • Master’s degree in engineering, Construction or Management (preferred), bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction or Management (minimum) preferred.
  • Knowledge of international risk standards (e.g., ISO31000, PMI, etc.), and risk management tools (e.g., ARM, At-Risk, etc.).
  • Experience with the holistic approach of risk management at portfolio and/or program level.
  • Experience managing multi-discipline teams.
  • Excellent communication skills (English language) at multiple levels of management and client relations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • strategic quick thinker with abilities to deliver messaging across all layers of the project team.
