Project Overview:

The Ar Rjum Project comprises a green field gold project with three open pit mining operations with associated waste dumps and ore stockpile, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and supporting infrastructure including water supply, power supply, maintenance facilities, offices, temporary and permanent accommodation village. The Project is situated within the Central Arabian Gold Region, approximately 200 km north-east of Taif towards Riyadh and about 26 km South of Al Mouwayh, which is a small town situated on the Jeddah – Riyadh highway.  

Job Summary:

In this role, you will represent Bechtel as the supplier's project quality point of contact. You will perform quality surveillance and hands on inspections to verify that supplier equipment, material, documentation, and personnel activities conform to the requirements of procurement documents. You will work with supplier representatives to ensure requirements are understood and implemented.  

 

"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership".

Major Responsibilities:

  • On a large sized project, represents Bechtel as the supplier’s prime contact with respect to supplier quality and performs quality surveillance activities defined by the assignment scope to verify that supplier furnished equipment and material conforms to the technical and quality requirements of the procurement documents 
  • Monitors supplier personnel activities including witnessing of operations, inspections, examinations, or tests to verify procurement document requirements have been met 
  • Performs hands on inspections to verify by re-examination the efficacy of supplier inspection efforts and to provide assurance of the conformance of equipment or materials to procurement document requirements 
  • Reviews supplier generated quality verification documentation to verify conformance to procurement document requirements 
  • Rejects material found nonconforming and collaborates with the supplier and project supplier quality personnel to obtain a course of supplier action which facilitates satisfactory disposition of disclosed non-conformances 
  • Releases conforming material for shipment and notifies other Bechtel functional organizations to assist in coordination of their activities 
  • Conducts surveys or audits or surveys of suppliers, when assigned 
  • Reviews supplier generated documentation applicable to materials, tests, components, quality-related activities and the qualification or certification of personnel to verify compliance to specified quality criteria 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree, Mechanical engineer or similar, not exclusive if demonstrated experience of approximately 8,000 total hours of in-shop quality surveillance or related experience with equipment or materials common to the Bechtel marketplace.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  •  Experienced with quality management programs including ISO9000, ANSI N45.2, 10CFR50 Appendix B and NQA-1.
  •  Knowledge of manufacturing standards and materials, ASTM, AWS, ASME, API etc.
  • Experience and knowledge in welding processes, coating, NDT, interpretation of drawings (isometric, 2D, 3D).
