Position Summary: Interfacing with planners, Bechtel field engineering, and supervision to facilitate work package scoping in Teamworks, schedule development, and DSCS loading. Providing timely updates to Area Field Engineer's and Supervision as to work package scope, status, and schedule. Focus on coordinating Sub-contractor IWP packages development and review proposed packages. Participating in model reviews to ensure construction installation requirements are preserved during design development. Coordinating with procurement to identify IWP material delivery status in the Bechtel Procurement System (BPS) look ahead viewer. Coordinate with home office engineering for design complete with respect to construction schedule. Maintaining IWP input in Teamworks and update as design is completed and revised. Working with the Turnover Coordinator to track IWP's and inspection records to completion. Developing status reports using project databases spanning multiple Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAP's).
Responsibilities
- Work includes field inspections and the physical ability to conduct field inspections which require the following activities:
- Extensive walking in and around a construction site.
- Climbing ladders.
- Climbing scaffolding.
- Working on elevated platforms.
- Working on uneven surfaces.
- Working in small or confined spaces.
- Some lifting may be required.
- Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress).
- Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e., harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.).
Qualifications and Skills
Basic Qualifications:
- Degree qualification in Engineering plus related field experience is preferred but may be waived if the candidate has suitable technical working experience.
- Prior experience in work scope packaging, material take offs and quantity reporting.
- Knowledge of using a 3D Model, Teamworks database, Primavera P6, BPS and Bechtel construction procedures is essential.
