Project Overview:

Job Summary:

In this role, you will integrate safety and health requirements into complex project planning, design, and operations to reduce the potential for adverse impacts. You will perform risk assessments, provide input on bid decisions, lead meetings and communications, and track and monitor performance trends. Your recommendations will contribute to enhanced quality of safety procedures and work processes.  #LI-AM3

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assists execution of the safety component of an ESH Program inclusive of technical and administrative aspects. 
  • Helps prepare and implement Safety and Health Management Plans, associated plans and procedures, and training program. 
  • Provides input to Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Subcontracts, Commissioning, and other groups to assure that safety and health requirements are integrated within project planning and execution. 
  • Interprets safety and health requirements and provides comprehensive assistance on plan preparation, risk assessment, and ESH program execution. 
  • Researches moderately complex issues and regulatory requirements and prepares documentation and reports. 
  • Provides support and guidance for safety studies, risk assessments, and program reviews and audits. 
  • Participates in emergency response and incident investigation and resolution. 
  • Interfaces and communicates with stakeholders and helps resolve their concerns. 
  • Participates in meetings with customers, team members, subcontractors, and other stakeholders. 
  • Conducts ESH inspections and monitoring to identify hazards and risks, evaluate controls and corrective actions, and assess compliance with contract, regulatory, project, and Bechtel requirements. 

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires a bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) related to occupational safety or health and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must be bi-lingual in Spanish and English 
  • Training skills and knowledge applicable to ES&H disciplines.
  • Prior work experience involving development and implementation of training programs.
  • Computer skills for preparing presentations, data management, and report preparation.
  • Adaptable to work in a training facility and outdoors in a field environment.
  • Ability to support various work shifts, as needed.
  • Demonstrated interest, training, and experience in applied sciences and workplace training.
  • Previous experience with ES&H technical and administrative subjects.
  • Broad technical knowledge, science skills and technical writing and teaching abilities.
  • Excellent multi-lingual (Spanish and English) oral and written communication skills and diverse training methods preferred.
