Job Summary:

In this role, you will liaise between engineering and field operations and provide guidance on executing constructability plans. You will lead construction design decisions, interdisciplinary reviews, and project staffing. You will monitor construction performance and review deliverables. You will use your expertise to improve Bechtel’s existing methods by initiating project assessments and implementing improvements.  #LI-SM2

 

Major Responsibilities:

Project 

  • Provides Construction recommendations on multiple disciplines 
  • Coordinates with all team members in generating and developing approved Constructability ideas and plans.  
  • Initiates the Constructability Program process and schedule, identifying construction related requirements to other functions in time to support their estimating efforts during project development/Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) phase.  
  • Prepares and may lead Constructability awareness training 
  • Contributes to construction related design decisions by providing Construction’s perspective to schedules, design deliverables, equipment purchases, degree of shop fabrication, and equipment delivery configuration and sequence. 

Non-Project 

  • Reviews and delivers Constructability awareness training and/or enterprise or project supervisory and technical training. 
  • Maintains/develops enterprise-wide processes and procedures 
  • Ensures effective implementation of Quality Management System 
  • Promotes development of enterprise applications 
  • Contributes to proposal efforts

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.

 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Turnover & Completions Process Expertise

  • Understanding of the full turnover lifecycle, including mechanical completion, system walkdowns, punch list creation, and final handover documentation.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and practices (e.g., systemization, tagging, turnover dossiers).

Commissioning & Startup Fundamentals

  • Basic knowledge of how construction activities transition into commissioning and startup phases.
  • Ability to coordinate with commissioning teams to ensure required documentation, testing, and inspections are completed on schedule.

Document Control & Data Management

  • Skilled in maintaining turnover records, punch list items, and other critical project documents in project management systems or databases.
  • Proficiency in preparing regular status reports and ensuring accurate, up-to-date data for all project stakeholders.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Effective at working with construction, quality, engineering, commissioning, and client teams to organize and facilitate system walkdowns and turnover milestones.
  • Strong ability to communicate changes, deadlines, and documentation requirements clearly and promptly.

Problem-Solving & Adaptability

  • Capable of identifying and resolving discrepancies in documentation, outstanding punch list items, or schedule conflicts.
  • Comfortable adjusting turnover strategies based on real-time project demands or technical constraints.

Organization & Attention to Detail

  • Methodical approach to tracking multiple systems or areas simultaneously, ensuring no detail is overlooked.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks based on schedule, critical path, and resource availability.

Software & Technology Proficiency

  • Familiarity with commonly used project management or turnover software (e.g., document control platforms, commissioning tools).
  • Ability to generate data-driven insights (e.g., completion metrics, punch list trends) to inform decision-making.
