Talent Acquisition Budget/Data Analyst

Position Summary

Bechtel’s Human Resources function is seeking a Talent Acquisition (TA) Data and Budget Analyst to join the Talent Acquisition organization.  This role will report to the Global Delivery Manager, Talent Acquisition and leverage TA data and analytics to identify opportunities for improvement, root causes of issues impacting performance, and provide recommendations for improvements or enhancements that support the Global TA strategy and execution. The Analyst will partner closely with the HR Data & Analytics team and act as the subject matter expert for all Talent Acquisition data, process, reporting, and dashboards. 



  • Identify, research, and provide meaningful data insights for TA organizational challenges and future enhancements
  • Use critical thinking to review complex data sets to identify trends or patterns
  • Manipulate, aggregate, and visualize large data sets in support of analysis efforts
  • Partner with TA members to develop business case recommendations and tailor the detail and communication approach based on the customer and/or project
  • Collaborate with TA leadership to identify key/critical TA areas for an in-depth audit and lead analysis effort
  • Leverage data reporting and analysis from various TA, HR, market, benchmark, survey, and other external resources to understand current state of Bechtel’s talent acquisition processes and performance
  • Partner with HR Data & Analytics COE and People Operations team to define, enhance, and track TA metrics/dashboard requirements
  • Ensure data analytics and insights are valid, meaningful, comprehensive, and are actionable
  • Partner with TA members to help them make data driven business decisions, properly design new initiatives, and focus their efforts in strategic ways
  • Lead reporting and review of Bechtel’s talent demand (forecast) planning
  • Drive data integrity through accountability, process design, training, and technology
  • Monitor, maintain and present complex budgets.  Includes monthly monitoring, projecting spend, collaborating on initiatives and discussing with senior leadership as needed


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience in budget management and/or data analysis OR 7+ years of overall experience in lieu of a degree
  • Experience in analytics related work including designing data queries, interpreting data, analyzing results, and preparing findings in business case or similar format
  • Demonstrated experience working with large data sets, including knowledge of data cleaning, and aggregating for analysis
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (specifically Excel, PowerPoint, Word and PowerBI)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with proven experience in presenting analysis finding/presentations to all levels of management


Additional Qualifications

  • Prior experience in talent acquisition, familiarity of TA work processes, or experience analyzing TA data
  • Proficient in data query language (i.e. SQL and R) and other reporting tools
  • Prior experience with other advanced statistics tools
