Job Summary:
In this role, you will provide technical guidance to promote consistency across projects, customers, and business lines. You will provide detailed review and support to capital cost estimates, cash flow, working capital assessments, and to the preparation of estimate documentation. Your recommendations ensure accurate cost estimations and will be essential in driving project profitability and success.
"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership”
Major Responsibilities:
- Provides technical leadership in area of responsibility to ensure consistency in approach and outcomes across projects, customers, and business lines
- Develops and approves estimate approaches, budgets, and schedules within area of responsibility
- Provides guidance and reviews all estimates and studies in area of responsibility
- Performs high-level confirmation of developed quantities for completeness and reasonableness in area of responsibility.
- Provides guidance in the development and reviews of criteria for development of pricing structure and provides guidance to assure complete and reasonable pricing in area of responsibility.
- Reviews estimates and cost study presentations, comparisons, and reconciliations in area of responsibility. Makes recommendation for approval to more senior management.
- Reviews the recommended contingency ranges and escalation rates to be presented to the project team in area of responsibility. Makes recommendation for approval to more senior management.
- Leads cost studies, trend estimates, and life cycle cost estimates in specialized areas or in specialized discipline area. Within area of responsibility, leads team in the identification of risk items, assignment of risk levels to portions of the project work and identification of measures to mitigate risk
- Takes a lead role in estimate reviews and presentations to project management and senior management in area of responsibility
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience and familiarity with various estimating methods across commodities like aluminum, copper, lithium, and gold,
- Demonstrated history of estimating mining projects at conceptual and feasibility levels.
- Ability to prepare high-level, factor-driven estimates and scenario-based trade-off studies during early project phases (concept, pre-feasibility, feasibility).
- Ability to support decision-making through comparative cost modeling and trade-off studies.
- Experience working on international projects or with geographically distributed teams.
