ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

1. Has full technical responsibility for planning, interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating the engineering assignments and activities on the project in liaison with the Global Business Unit Project Engineering Manager for Proposals, FEED, EPC and PMC projects.

2. Establish / manage the overall engineering budget, maintains ownership, and ensures execution within approved budgets.

3. Establishes / manages the project design, engineering scope and maintains ownership

4. Coordinates, manages the statutory and company specific design reviews are undertaken, i.e., Model Reviews, HAZOP, LOPA, HSE etc. Ensures that requisite supporting documentation is completed.

5. Establishes / manages and reviews the engineering project schedule for the project/program carries out any actions to prioritize /re-schedule the engineering deliverables and personnel necessary to meet the overall schedule.

6. Plans, forecasts, identifies the necessary engineering resources to support the program workload requirements program release dates for input to the functional department

7. Will act as the primary interface for the Global Business Unit Project Manager and Project Engineering Manager for all engineering and personnel matters within the project/program

8. Provides oversight management of technical documentation to procurement, construction, and third parties.

9. Co-ordinates technical and commercial reviews on engineering outputs from the project / program, reviews contract documentation. 

10. Undertakes design co-ordination meetings with construction at various phases including implementation of Design for Safe Construction Procedure.

11. Instigates and reviews TIC reduction/ value engineering opportunities / proposals

12. Ensures that statutory and company specific design reviews are undertaken and are in accordance with QA procedures in place at the time

JOB KNOWLEDGE:

1. Anticipates internal and/or external business challenges and/or regulatory issues.

2. Working knowledge of industry / regulatory standards and design criteria within the engineering disciplines

3. Ability to develop innovative ideas to reduce project total installed costs (TIC).

4. Ability to present technical design issues to customers and suppliers and the ability to recommend solutions based on knowledge and experience

5. Understands Bechtel Standard Application Program and uses tools for digital data delivery.

6. Proficient execution planning, resource allocation skills

BASIC QUALIFICATION:

1. A recognized bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university with over 25 years of working experience with 10 years of relevant experience in leading large complex projects as Project Engineering Manager.

2. Executed at least two EPC projects as Project Engineering Manager

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:

1. Experience in working as Project Engineering Manager in large Oil & Gas and LNG Projects
