Project Overview

CityFibre has started on an ambitious rollout of Fibre to the Home ( across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland ( As the CityFibre geographic footprint grows, the need to scale the execution model will increase and will become more urgent. To that end, standardization of approach and process – whether recruiting and retaining talent or resolving design constructability issues - will be critical, including the coordination and communication amongst the various CityFibre teams especially those outside of the Network Build organisation.

Role Overview

The Project Co-ordinator will support, and work alongside the Build Manager and Project Manager to coordinate projects that deliver FTTP network rollouts across the City, helping to ensure that projects and objectives are delivered on time, within scope and to the agreed budget.

Area Reporting & Issues Lead for Communication Sector within Bechtel Infrastructure GBU. Primary responsibilities include responsibility for directing all program level schedule development and maintenance monitoring activities. He/She will also manage any contract notice and reporting requirements including analysis/study and problem-solving activities and maintain all required interfaces including scope change control, risk and Consortium reporting as necessary.

 the role entails:

·       Ensuring full visibility of activity, costs and risks across all areas of the project

·       Creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation – ensuring SharePoint and Salesforce are updated and maintained

·       Supports the delivery of Client Core Objective No 2 for the scaling and delivery across a delivery area 

·       Assisting the Project Manager to define the project scope, project activities and dates, involving all relevant stakeholders (internal and external)

·       Provides guidance to Project Manager on overall schedule impacts and solutions.

·       Coordinating the project activities by working with all stakeholders to enable flawless execution of the project

·       Successfully managing relationships with all internal and external facing stakeholders

·       Monitoring and tracking project progress against the detailed project plan – identifying risk and supporting the Project Manager in identifying mitigation activities

·       Directs any additionally required schedule reporting activities

·       Oversees the implementation of milestone schedules, engineering/procurement/construction closeout monitoring including documentation and planned maintenance activities.

·       Directs schedule analysis/study and problem-solving activities.

·       Executing mitigation plans to minimise project risks and reporting on the status when required

·       Reporting project progress, status, costs and risk to PMO in a regular and timely manner, using appropriate tools and techniques, including escalation of risks to management as needed

·       Reporting changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques and in accordance with company management strategies, policies and plans

·       To monitor the workflow management system Depotnet on a daily basis and provide the usage reports statistics

·       To maintain and interrogate Salesforce CRM System and ensure property release sheets have been verified against the asbuilt data

·       Feeding back on areas for cost improvement and potential programme benefits realisations

·       Maintaining the contractor metric capture for reporting on weekly

·       Creating and maintaining in-city reports

·       Responsible for keeping in-city and regional meeting minutes

·       Collating governance meeting packs & Ad-hoc reporting

·       Develops and interprets guidelines applicable to the Wave 1 analysis function.

·      Maintains required interfaces required of the Wave 1 secondment agreement including scope change control, risk and reporting as necessary.

Basic Qualifications

·       Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field with several years of relevant project controls experience with an emphasis on project planning.

·       Preferred experience managing large motorway/civil projects

·       Experience and demonstrated skill in directing, planning, and scheduling functions, including schedule development, control, and analysis, in the field and the home office. Experience and demonstrated skill in establishing criteria for project planning and scheduling activities.

·       Skilled in direction, personnel administration, and training of technical and non-technical personnel.

·       Skilled in oral and written communication, with a demonstrated ability to present planning and scheduling information to management and clients.
