Job Summary:

In this role, you will coordinate the piping material engineering technical deliverables of Piping subcontractors to ensure compliance with project requirements. Your technical expertise will ensure the unique and complex requirements of a project’s piping materials engineering aspects are met. Your technical input will ensure configuration compliance, procurement requirements are met, and complex issues are resolved. #LI-MJ1

 

"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership”

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Plans, develop, coordinate and review engineering work, such as Piping Material Specifications, Material Requisitions, Engineering drawings / Data Sheets, calculations and bid summaries, within Plant Design and Piping discipline.
  • Develops and interprets design criteria and specifications for most complex plant design and piping infrastructure for a data center project​.  
  • Examines and analyzes pipe configurations for ANSI/ASME code compliance​ 
  • Analyzes problems with conflicting design requirements, sketches ideas and possible solutions​ 
  • Analyzes and reports on the suitability of unconventional materials, techniques and/or difficult coordination requirements​ 
  • Plans, coordinates, or prepares equipment, work and material specifications, bid evaluations and award recommendations​ 
  • Coordinates plant design engineering efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, the client, vendor, contractors, construction and other functional groups​ 
  • Prepares procurement and subcontract requisition documents and performs associated technical bid evaluations with award recommendations​ 
  • Optimizes facility layout based on piping and instrument diagrams, client requirements, current technology, and operational and maintenance requirements 

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience​

 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Technical expertise: Advanced skills and proficiency in the Piping Materials Engineering, PE Licensed is preferred
  • Experience with international piping design codes and standards (ASTM / ASME / MSS / AWWA/ piping Master specs / CSI specs / UL / FM) used in industrial plants / building, utilities, process plants.
  • Experience with Autodesk BIM, Navisworks, Revit model review.
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit, CADMep component family development, material take off data extraction.
  • Prepare and review scope and work and Vendor Quotations for Technical Acceptability and completes Technical Bid Evaluations for all piping and valve components. 
  • Ability to Address Challenges Proactively: Track record of identifying issues and implementing effective solutions, especially in high-pressure situations.
  • Flexibility to Adapt to Changing Requirements: Capacity to adjust plans and strategies based on evolving project needs or industry trends.
  • Strong Communication Abilities: Clear and effective communication with stakeholders at all levels, including technical teams, executives, and clients.
  • Datacenter experience: Previous work experience in datacenter design, construction, or operations is preferred. Ensuring compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
