Field Early Works Planner

Role Overview

Responsible for the development and maintenance of integrated EPC schedules on large LNG project with specific emphasis on the Construction and Early Works schedules.  Candidate will be focused on development of Level 5 mobilization, Level 5 construction, and Level 4 start-up schedules, and will comply with associated Project Controls processes and procedures for field work.  Prepares detailed plans for planning/scheduling activities.  The role will interface with Construction, Start-Up, SC Administrators, Engineering, Procurement personnel, and other Project Controls and Support Services staff during the project, including Timekeeping.  Applicant will provide direction to assigned planning personnel.   


Duties require accuracy, judgment, communication, organization, and excellent computer skills.

Candidate is required to hold a valid Australian passport, be able to work independently, and effectively manage time to meet project requirements for schedule development to support project requirements.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, business management or equivalent experience with a minimum 7-15 years Project Controls in home office and/or field capacity for a major EPC firm.  LNG experience on lump sum projects are highly desirable.
  • Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing planning and scheduling functions, which include EPC schedule development, control, and analysis.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6 and Bechtel standard application programs (TeamWorks, BPS, etc.)
  • Skilled in oral and written communication.
  • Motivated self-starter with ability to effectively interface with team members.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Access.  PowerBI is highly desirable.
  • Advanced level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes.
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction management customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.


Additional Information
Must hold a valid Australian passport.  Assignment will start in Houston, Texas, and transition to the jobsite (Karratha, Western Australia) in early 1Q 2020.  Jobsite will be transition to camp status in 2020.
