Project Overview:
Bechtel Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) is an exciting and growing business that serves the increasing demand of EPC services for customers in the semiconductor (manufacturing facilities and supply chain); electric vehicle (batteries, charging infrastructure, and production); synthetic materials; and data center markets. Job Summary:
In this role, you will be responsible for managing and deploying the engineering Bechtel Standard Application Portfolio (BSAP) for the M&T GBU (Manufacturing & Technology Global Business Unit). You will support BSAP planning and implementation on prospects and projects to facilitate data integration in an integrated EPC environment. #LI-Hybrid
"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership”
Major Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategy:

Reports to the GBU Manager of Engineering (MoE) and is responsible for managing and deploying the engineering Bechtel Standard Application Portfolio (BSAP) for the M&T GBU.

Align on the Automation Vision, Strategy, and Plan (VSP) with Corporate Engineering Automation.

Provide automation budget planning, monitoring, and reporting to the MoE (Manager of Engineering).

Responsible for fostering a collaborative relationship between Engineering and Digital Solutions functions, ensuring the needs of Engineering work processes are met while facilitating incorporation of new technology to support M&T’s goals of delivering to our customers at speed
Standardization and Integration:
-
Promote standardization in the development and maintenance of the GBU Engineering Automation practices, instructions, and procedures.

Standardize Engineering BSAP configurations to meet GBU requirements.

Maintain the Engineering related items of the GBU standard integration data maps where they are used.

Work with the Engineering disciplines, PIIM/BIM (Project Innovation & Information Manager / Building Information Modeling) and GBU IS&T to establish integration requirements of engineering BSAPs.

Support PIIM/BIM/Engineering in coordinating with GBU’s/Project’s and gather requirements/expectations for Integration and plan/provide support.

Coordinate with PIIM/BIM/Engineering on the reporting needs of Engineering.
Process and Application Management:
-
Establish work processes using Engineering BSAPs/SCPs (Bechtel Standard Application Programs / Standard Computer Programs) both internal and cross-functional; manage related Engineering Department procedures.

Facilitate data extraction process for engineering from the BIM / similar 3D model on projects.

Develop and implement complete Project Engineering Automation plan/BIM Plan, including automation scope for Architecture and Engineering disciplines (3D model, steel detailing, P&ID, Electrical & Instrumentation, Interoperability, Equipment lists, etc.), and Engineering inputs to other functions.

Support Digital Solutions/PIIM in implementing a common data environment.

Support and coordinate with Construction for implementation of Advanced Work-Packaging (AWP) across Engineering applications.

Coordinate with Procurement, Construction, Startup, and Project Controls functions and seek/provide necessary support.

Conduct regular assessments to review the implementation of the engineering automation, and level of maturity achieved on the project.
Support and Training:

Interact with end users to support and troubleshoot.

Interact with vendors to stay current with updates, new software releases, resolve licensing issues, etc.

Coordinate with application development team on tool enhancements, bug fixes, troubleshooting, and development roadmaps.

Test and participate in certification process for new versions of applications.

Provide training to users/super-users on applications as required. Participate in train-the-trainer modules.

Serve as a liaison between IT staff, Application support group, Project Innovation & Information Management Team (PIIM), and Software development team.
Data Management and Reporting:

Configure standard applications to meet project requirements.

Understand reporting requirements for each application and manage a team that configures reports, accordingly, ensuring reports are accurate reflections of the data and are functioning as intended.
Education and Experience Requirements:
-
BE / B. Tech / MCA or equivalent Scientific or Engineering Degree with 15 years of work experience.

Specialized courses or experience in information management.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
-
Proven experience integrating, automating and managing interoperability between multiple engineering platforms and software is required.

Broad Experience with Bechtel Standard applications, including Autodesk environment (Revit, Civil 3D), Hexagon environment (S3D), other common engineering applications (Staad.pro, Tekla Structures,) is preferred.

Good understanding of Database structures and application architecture.

Good understanding of application architecture concepts and standards, set-up, and migration procedures.

Familiarity with Power BI and data modeling.

Ability to facilitate technical discussions with internal and external customers.
