Project Overview:
Bechtel Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) is an exciting and growing business that serves the increasing demand of EPC services for customers in the semiconductor (manufacturing facilities and supply chain); electric vehicle (batteries, charging infrastructure, and production); synthetic materials; and data center markets.

Job Summary:
The CBL Coordinator oversees the behavior-based safety program, which employs observation and constructive feedback by trained craft workers. This program aims to assist craft peers in promoting safe work practices within a project. The CBL process supports the concept of “courageous leadership” by empowering and encouraging craft employees to take responsibility for the ES&H aspects of their work environment. The role necessitates the practical application of occupational safety and associated disciplines to manage the safety and health aspects on a project or facility. This position reports to the Environmental Safety and Health (ES&H) Manager or the ESH Services Manager. #LI-AM3
Major Responsibilities:
- Develops and delivers a CBL program aligned to the culture and capabilities of workers
- Creates and implements a CBL training program for all project levels.
- Trains the CBL team on the importance of the CBL process and effective observation and feedback skills.
- Leads the CBL team in observation and feedback, develops actions, and communicates results.
- Reviews reports for quality of observations
- Refines and adapts the CBL program throughout the various project stages.
- Oversees the implementation of the CBL program and reports on its successes and areas needing improvement.
- Openly communicates with field leaders and project ESH Manager on CBL matters
- Maintains a working relationship with observers, field leaders and other ESH team members
- Attends observer meetings to address issues using observation data and CBL requirements.
- Completes or monitors CBL data entry and the development of data reports
- Maintains CBL reports and records
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) related to environmental, safety, health, education, or a science-related discipline and2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to research and comprehend organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective computer skills for preparing presentations, data management, and report preparation.
- Effective problem-solving skills to identify safety issues and implement effective solutions.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with employees at all levels of the project organization
- Plans and coordinates work requiring independent judgement and experience.
- Adaptable and able to work outdoors in a field environment under various weather conditions.
- Ability to support multiple work shifts, as needed, and a wide range of tasks.
- Valid driver’s license.
