Project Overview:

Bechtel’s Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) is an exciting and growing business unit that serves customers in the semiconductor, electric vehicle, and datacenter markets. Job Summary:

In this role, you will be taking care of the overall change management and trend program to identify, assess and minimize variances to the project baseline, including cost, schedule, scope, as well as terms and conditions. You will work with various functions with other project disciplines (engineering, construction, contracts, procurement etc.) to quantify changes/trends and develop recommendations to minimize risks and capitalize on opportunities. Your detailed analysis will provide innovative solutions to change management challenges. This position will be based at the job site. #LI-MJ1

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Directs change management and annual project forecast update activities.
  • Oversees the Project Trend Program.
  • Develops, interprets, and executes policy, objectives, and standards applicable to change management activities.
  • Participates in the development and change management related training of assigned personnel and the implementation of on-the-job and classroom training programs.
  • Provides leadership in terms of integrating the change management process with other key project procedures (e.g., Risk Management, Forecasting, Cost, Trends, and Claims) and support corporate, Global Business Unit, commercial group, and functional stakeholders in managing change related activities as required.
  • Prepares, coordinates, and directs change management and trend program related presentations to Bechtel and client management, as required. Leads Trend and Change Control meetings.
  • Provides leadership and guidance for the analysis of specially assigned change related initiatives or work planning requiring detailed change assessment, forecasting and response planning efforts. 
  • Reviews all major change orders and trends.
  • Review the quality and integrity of estimates produced by the team. Reviews estimate basis and assumptions for completeness and reasonableness. Ensures that lessons learned are incorporated into estimates.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) in Business, Engineering or Construction Management and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.

 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to influence, drive and coach the team in effective change and trend management at all stages of delivery.
  • Demonstrated capability to interface with commercial and technical functions to effectively manage baseline changes.
  • Significant engineering and construction management experience customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience. 
  • Ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions under pressure.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivery, communication, and training of change management processes and procedures. 
  • Knowledge of construction estimating practices and method, estimating core processes, planning/scheduling and cost engineering project activities.
  • Technical and practical comprehension of engineering, procurement and construction functions and general business techniques.
  • Prior change management experience in GC commercial model is preferred.
  • Experience leading teams and fostering collaboration among diverse groups.
