Job Summary:
The Automation Specialist role is core of Bechtel's Engineering design and delivery of Project’s digital execution and delivery. The role is responsible for defining and implementing 2D and 3D CAD applications for Project’s Engineering team, configuring them to meet Project requirements and ensuring Project deliverables are aligned. He/she will work with the Project team for understanding, coordinating and implementing Project requirements. The role demands clear understanding of Engineering requirements and aligning CAD applications accordingly to suit Project needs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Represents CAD Support in response to Project reported problems and to situations presented that require diverse and expert knowledge of CAD applications
- Provides technical support to designers, project group supervisor, interfaces directly with central Automation group and provides solutions to reported problems and to situations presented.
- Relate Smart3D to a particular discipline and give direction and guidance during implementation on project. Should have a good knowledge of best practices.
- Participate in technical workshops and training
- Provide consultancy across department functions and services.
- Provide technical guidance and direction to lower-level professionals.
- Perform product certification assignments.
- Provide inputs in development of specialized standard practices and procedures utilized in customer support.
- Exercise ingenuity and independent judgment to the development of solutions for complex problems.
- Demonstrate knowledge of principles, and concepts of product specialization.
- Apply expertise as a Smart 3D specialist and has an extended knowledge of interrelationship of products.
- Exercise self-direction, decision making and be considered senior level Automation support employee within the organization.
Basic Qualifications:
Level 1:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computers or related science from a four-year accredited college or university and 12 years’ experience or in lieu of degree, 16+ years of progressive experience in relevant industry
- Requires 6-8 years of experience implementing, administrating, and supporting Computer Aided 3D Design applications
- Requires 8+ years of experience with Smart 3D implementing interfaces with peripheral applications
- Requires 8+ years of experience as technical lead
Level 2:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computers or related science from a four-year accredited college or university and 14+ years’ experience; or in lieu of degree, 18+ years of progressive experience in relevant industry
- Requires 10+ years of experience implementing, administrating, and supporting Computer Aided 3D Design applications
- Requires 6+ years of experience coordinating Project CAD requirements/ deliverables and interacting with clients, if necessary
Common:
- Experience with Visual Basic 6, Microsoft .NET, COM/.NET, Microsoft SQL server setup/administration, and Client/Server architecture of Windows.
- Prior experience as administration lead on large scale projects required.
- Knowledge or Revit and BIM360 will be an added advantage
