Job Summary:
In this role, you will manage the organization and direction of project construction activities and oversee total site management including supervision of construction craft personnel, field engineering, contract administration, cost and schedule, field procurement, and finance and accounting. Your leadership will ensure project operations are compliant, safe, timely, within scope and budget, and clients are satisfied. #LI-MJ1
Major Responsibilities:
Leadership/Supervision:
- Manages the organization and direction of construction and related activities of a single construction project, including actions of Bechtel, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and their representatives.
- Acts as primary client contact for all project field activities.
- Oversees total site management including supervision of construction craft personnel, field engineering, contract administration, cost and schedule, field procurement, finance and accounting services, and craft resource personnel as applicable.
- Maintains client relationship and is the primary contact for client’s communication with the field activities and effective relation with other functional departments.
- Coordinates all project contractual activities. and participates in the development of contract, subcontract, or vendor scopes of work, budgets, contract formation, and negotiations
Planning:
- Oversees jobsite expenditures for labor equipment, material and services and ensures field operations are within the budget.
- Establishes project field procedures and objectives within corporate policies and procedures as necessitated by conditions at a jobsite.
- Develops, implements, and administers a jobsite security plan and coordinates the activities with corporate security department.
Safety & Quality:
- Ensures development and execution of Project Automation Plan, Environmental Compliance Plan, safety plan, site survey plan, non-manual staffing plan, subcontracting plan, labor strategy, Construction Execution Plan, and job-site work rules.
- Plans and establishes procedures to ensure construction operations meet engineering designs and specifications.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Construction Management Expertise
- Strong understanding of construction methods, procedures, and best practices for medium- to large-scale industrial or data center projects.
- Familiarity with local codes, regulations, and relevant safety standards (e.g., OSHA or equivalent).
Field Coordination & Scheduling:
- Proven ability to develop and maintain detailed construction schedules, coordinate resources, and sequence work efficiently.
- Skilled in short-term planning, look-ahead schedules, and mitigating schedule conflicts.
Craft Supervision & Workforce Management:
- Demonstrated experience overseeing and directing large craft workforces, ensuring proper staffing and clear assignment of responsibilities.
- Effective at mentoring foremen and other supervisory staff, addressing performance issues, and maintaining high productivity levels.
Safety & Quality Control:
- Comprehensive knowledge of safety protocols, incident prevention strategies, and zero-accident culture.
- Capable of implementing and upholding strict quality standards, managing inspections, and ensuring compliance with project specifications.
Resource & Logistics Coordination:
- Ability to coordinate material deliveries, equipment usage, and site logistics to prevent bottlenecks and ensure continuous workflow.
- Experience with managing subcontractor activities and integrating multiple disciplines on-site.
Communication & Reporting:
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with project engineers, subcontractors, and owners’ representatives.
- Clear, concise reporting abilities for project status updates, resource needs, and potential issues.
Problem-Solving & Adaptability:
- Ability to identify and address on-site issues quickly, propose viable solutions, and pivot when site conditions change.
- Comfortable making time-sensitive decisions to keep the project on track.
