Job Summary:

Electrical Engineer with Knowledge in SEL Architecture, S3D and Smart Sketch.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Active participation in technical discussions with the team for Setup / Configure / trouble shoot of Electrical applications as required by the project.
  • General day-to-day support and management of project users –other associated application like SEL, ETAP, eMTO (Electrical Material Take-off application), SETROUTE (Cable Management application), Lighting Software etc.
  • Implementation and setup of Electrical Engineering applications in-line with corporate/project standards
  • Taking backups from Smart Electrical in MSSQL or Oracle platform
  • Import engineering data using Import Manager and creation of User Defined Attributes (UDA) as per project needs.
  • Smart Plant 3D (S3D) Electrical administrator role to set-up project needs and day-to-day support.
  • Maintenance of 3D Model environment for stability and ensure the modelling environment works appropriately to generate, control and distribution of 3D model interfaces.
  • Set-up, configure and implement data exchanges between applications.
  • Bulk load code list, deploy standard reports and templates, bulk-load catalog and reference files, develop/modify drawing templates/view style, create project specific symbols.
  • Development and implementation of new procedures, guidelines and workflows as required.
  • Coordination with project Discipline Leads
  • Coordination and work closely with multi discipline applications administrators as required.
  • Interact with End users to support, troubleshoot and interact with vendors.
  • Participate in discussions with Information Management team, monitoring and ensure timely closure of Tasks\Incidents received by the team through Service Now, over e-mail or telephone.
  • Maintenance of Test Environment for Application exchanges
  • Testing of electrical applications and participate in certification process for new version of applications.
  • Provide training to users / super-users on application as required.
  • Interaction and coordination within Automation and IS&T groups, corporate teams, GBU / Site offices, Functional management in local and overseas offices.
  • Maintain / develop standard reporting practices.
  • Amenable to working in shift timing based on project schedule/requirements.
  • Works with projects and Corporate EPC Functions, Engineering Function/Management to resolve technical and work process issues.
  • Role will also include devising innovative approaches to problems encountered to provide solutions to the customer.
  • Documentation and understand all integration points with external systems. 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A recognized bachelor’s/master’s degree in electrical engineering, from an accredited college or university with an overall experience of minimum 10 years.
  • Min 5-7 years of experience in Engineering and Application Support group.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to setup, configure, install SEL, Schema files and Smart plant Import Manager
  • Ability to create, setup and manage the project within SEL which includes project configuration, permission groups, access rights, and project hierarchy.
  • Catalogue and Symbol customization and development in SEL.
  • Deliverable customization i.e. Reports, Schedules and SLD’s as per the project needs in SEL
  • General drafting capability in AutoCAD, Smart sketch and MicroStation applications
  • Ability to administrate and maintain database server in Oracle or MSSQL for SEL
  • Ability to configure ETAP application and trouble shoot.
  • Good understanding on Integration of SEL/S3D/ETAP with other EPC/ interdisciplinary applications.
  • Ability to create department standard and project specific reports and reporting methods as needed.
  • Knowledge of Engineering Work processes and Data flow between tools/applications.
  • Good understanding of Database structures and application architecture for supporting applications, Familiarity with Oracle, SQL Server, Access databases.
  • Good understanding of application architecture concepts and standards, set-up, and migration procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of hardware and operating systems including system architectures, network infrastructures, etc.
