  • Salary Range: $73,800 - $93,660 annually (Determined by function, education, experience, and qualifications of the applicant. A 15% salary uplift is provided on top of base salary for positions that are worked in New York City or San Francisco, which is subject to change depending on market conditions.).

Overview:

Whether it’s ambient, low temperature, or cryogenic storage tanks or pressure vessels, there are a broad range of products and services needed for Bechtel engineering and construction projects.  The Tanks Business Line (TBL) develops and delivers these products and services with a commitment to safe, innovative, timely, cost-effective, and high-quality project execution.  Working in the Bechtel TBL group is an opportunity to learn from some of the leading engineers, construction, and other tank building professionals in the industry.  Opportunities for career growth are enhanced through participation in a 24 to 30-month rotational program providing training and hands-on work experience within the key functional department that collaborate in estimating, planning, scheduling, purchasing, engineering, and constructing storage tanks and vessel projects worldwide.

Major Responsibilities:

Typical Activities

  • Providing support to engineering, estimating, procurement, and construction by performing engineering assignments for the design, requisitioning, construction, testing, startup, and handover of projects.
  • Learning the tank and pressure vessel technology, become knowledgeable of industry standards and codes and be able to apply them to the work.
  • Preparing design calculation packages to support Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) phases of projects.
  • Developing technical procedures, drawings, and specifications for the completion of work.
  • Generating designs, perform analysis, and providing detail engineering for both the bid and contract phases of projects.
  • Assisting with the preparation of purchase requisitions for material and equipment.
  • Working closely with other functions to ensure the needs of the project are met with the best quality possible.
  • Maintaining the highest level of safety awareness and ensure all tasks are completed to the highest safety standards.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant degree from an accredited college or university within the past twelve (12) months or upcoming twelve (12) months.
  • Ability and willingness to relocate and/or travel to domestic and/or international project jobsites.
  • Possess the eligibility to work and remain in the US without visa sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Science degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant degree from an accredited college or university within the past twelve (12) months or upcoming twelve (12) months.
  • Prior co-op or internship experience.
  • Completed relevant coursework with a strong GPA.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
